That's a rooster. Roosters have been known to sit in a nest box from time to time, but they don't lay eggs. Roosters that attack don't live long and healthy lives around here....I see no reason to keep an animal that attacks.

I agree with Donrae. If that thing lays an egg I'll eat my socks. lol! I live in Florida so I only own 2 pairs of socks since they don't go with sandals..lol! He probably was sitting in the nesting box, my rooster does it. It just probably happened to be sitting on an egg that a hen laid there right before he got in..lol!
