1) We have ‘kept’ chickens at my in laws (10 minutes away) for a few years, but my husband just completed our coop & run. He is a computer guy by trade, f has all kinds of coop-automation/tech upgrade ideas. I’m just happy to have my girls where I can enjoy them daily!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we are around 20, picking up 4 Bielefelder chicks this weekend. ($10 per sexed chick seems worth the hour long drive?)

(3) What breeds do you have?
Wyandotte (multiple colors)
Cochin
Sex link
Plymouth Rock
Japanese & Americana bantams

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Longtime reader/dreamer

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, cooking, lettering, crafts.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Husband & I have been together since high school & married after he served a 2 year volunteer mission for our church. That was 6 years ago, we now try to keep up with 2 awesome girls under 5. Husband works & attends school full time. We have 2 indoor rescue cats strangely enough, several hermit crabs.

G’Day from down under JevaFarm :frow Welcome and congratulations on being able to have your flock at home!

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Glad you're here JevaFarm!

If you haven't yet, please make your chickens a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise.
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it! :D

When the tech savvy hubby starts making stuff, make sure he posts it HERE so we can use it too!!!!! :D
