Utah!

Hi Fellow Utahn's, I was very saddened this morning when one of my chickens announced to the whole neighborhood that he is a ROOSTER! I'm so sad because he truly is the sweetest, friendliest, laid back chicken ever. I need to find him a new home though asap. He is a Buff Orpington approximately 3 months old. Can you help me put the word out to find him a new home? Thanks so much.

Hi all - Hi Daisiechicks (!) long time no see!

I also have a rooster, an Ameraucana (not purebred - an EE), who is 9 weeks old and has not yet crowed. He is up for adoption or eating - as you prefer. Let me know if you want him, but you'd have to get him today. PM me if you want him.

PS. he is also listed on craigslist farm & garden with photos.

HMM... I am finally a chicken owner!! I have the chicks outside today since it's so very warm. they're about two weeks old and getting quite feathered. I didn't expect it so fast. They're not so much my cute little fuzzballs anymore!
I've got one cuckoo Marans, a Welsummer Marans, and two Salmon Feveroles.
If someone wants to explain how to post pics here I'd be happy to post some. I've got a couple of cute pics of the girls outside tormenting the dogs! My Retriever/lab mix is still going nuts that the birds are outside, she never figured that we had them inside...silly dog! Good thing my coop and run are pretty heavy duty!

! and congratulations on your chicks!

I live in Utah! All the way on the west side in the middle of Kearns. Ever heard of Kearns?
It's hard to own chickens here, we've had to get a permit, and we're not supposed to have roosters, so the few we get we find new homes [or other means] for.

Nice to know I'm not alone. :)

I lived there for a couple of years. Where abouts are you?
I think you're in the county right there. What is your zoning? I think you'd be affected by the new SL County laws. 6 or 8 hens I think you can have.
