The SL feathers are still wide but not so round on the ends---getting pointy :( The others are all still wide on the ends so far. I do not see any red or even pink yet on any wattles or combs.... How about yours? Head feathers and wattles /combs? Wait, I can't remember, yours are both bearded I think so no wattles?

So I'm beginning to have some gender crises with my birds. I still can't figure out if the turkeys are all girls or not. Pretty sure I've got two girls and a ??? And yesterday, I got a good look at the Black Am I have out in Tooele. I was paying particular attention to his actions around his two new hens and how his tail and neck have been shaping up. Um......yeah, definitely different from the other black Am, who is a proven cockerel. So now it's up in the air on whether or not that one is a male or female. And one of the two Icelandic pullets I got from Hattie is making the same noises that the boys did when they were that age. I hope it's just because she's spunky. Oi.................

Oh, boy....I'm not going to even try to catch up on what I've missed....ugh. I hate being SO busy. (It's nice to be busy, but not overly busy, ya know?)

Here's pictures of my cochins...Can anybody tell me anything about primary wings that stick out away from the chicken's body? My little cochin cockerel has improper wings, and I'm hoping they'll correct once he's more grown.

And here's the Ameraucana chicks

I posted them smaller because there were so many, but I think you can click on them to make them bigger. :)

Sasha, those are sure lovely!

Sundance, too weird- I didn't get an email from Christie. I wonder if I was somehow dropped from her email list. I need food too, but can't get down there anytime soon. I'll just buy it from my usual feed store.

Sasha, I have had a couple of birds that have the pokey-outtie wings as babies. It seems to fade with age, so I don't know that I would worry about it just yet. It seems like the plumper or rounder their body shape, the more the wings were noticeable.

Wendy, thanks!

Whitney, thanks for the advice. That makes me feel a little relieved. :)

These cochins are so, so sweet. Even though they are 6 weeks and can go out in the coop, it's been so cold at night here the past week, I've kept them in the work shop with a little heat lap at night, and then let them out after it has warmed up a tad. I can let them out of their cage in the morning and they'll fly/chase after me out of the workshop and into the yard. So cute. :)

Whitney as in Whittni? Well they are the same name...

Oh my goodness, love these! I've had a lot of chicks with the wings sticking out like that, and they usually go down as they get older. In fact, my birchen was doing this..remember? I thought it was a frizzle! And that Ideal made a mistake. Well, the feathers are going more the way they should, and the white is coming in the neck. Yaay, I have a birchen cochin. I love your first picture, and your third picture..very pretty!
