Utah!

Oh, boy....I'm not going to even try to catch up on what I've missed....ugh. I hate being SO busy. (It's nice to be busy, but not overly busy, ya know?)

Here's pictures of my cochins...Can anybody tell me anything about primary wings that stick out away from the chicken's body? My little cochin cockerel has improper wings, and I'm hoping they'll correct once he's more grown.

And here's the Ameraucana chicks

(#2)

I posted them smaller because there were so many, but I think you can click on them to make them bigger. :)

Nice babies I love the color. I think the feathers will smooth wiht time

My chickens are so funny. Ed was working on the motorhome to make sure everything is running. We use it for a guest house when we have a lot of company. He was going from the back yard to the motorhome and left both doors open. He comes out of the motorhome just in time to see two hens walk thru the front yard into the coop I have on my front lawn. Its on KSL so we put it in front for easier viewing. then both went right into the nest box. He came and got me. I went out just in time to hear the egg song. I put the doors in so they could finish. When I heard the other egg song I opened the nest box and both escapes were put back in the yard. Little darlings. They knew that coop and exactly what to do when they saw it. After all it use to be their home.

Sundance, that is too funny. "Oh look, Gladys! We've found it."

Sasha, I looooooove that cochin, is it called millefleur ? The second one....... So So So So pretty I am like a kid watching the christmas commercials (I want that! I want that!)

I too have hatched babies that grow the crazy long wing tips, they grow into them with time, no worries (so far!)

Whittni, I didn't know you had a coronation sussex! I have one too! She's 20ish weeks old. I think she's going to be gorgeous, and oh my gosh, she's HUGE.

LOL Sundance, I think it's hilarious they found their old house and laid eggs in it.

A Mille Fleur Cochin is still on my "have to have someday" list.

My chicks continue to be stubborn, but I think Lucy, the Partridge has *almost* got it. She's actually pecked the nipple a time or two, but I don't think they quite get it yet.

Soo, Roosters. I know most of you don't have them, but I'm trying to get a handle on normal behavior. When I visit Suzie's farm, she has a bunch of roosters, and they all seem to be totally calm, and never, ever are aggressive. My first rooster was very aggressive. My current bcm rooster is still being really sweet. But yesterday, my Legbar rooster came after me when my back was turned. I chased him around the coop and basically scared the living daylights out of him. Today he didn't attack at all. In fact, he ran away and made alarmed noises when I came into the run. But, I don't want a rooster around that's going to attack me or my kids. Do you think he's doomed?

My mystery layer laid again today, and this time she made it into the henhouse, but not the box. It's a lot closer though. Hopefully we'll get her in the box soon.

Hey lisa... I think mine are looking spiky... Ill have to get pics on here :)

I meant to get pics today and forgot~ ! Will try tomorrow. The SL look so pointy but it might be the lacing, it is hard to tell. I was pretty sure one of the whites acted boyish all along, low and behold, it is the most girlish now. I hate how you just never know with these! My Buff is my favorite, but her fluff on top is not as full as I wish, but round feathers, could still end up a boy...The SL is soooo fluffy...but pointy feathers! Why cant they just show ALL the girlie signs or ALL the boyish signs. hehe will be guessing for quite awhile on these I am afraid. Would love to see updated pics for comparison.
