Utah!

Sundance will have to answer the question, as I have no idea. But, I've seen this chicken probably 3-4 times, and she's ALWAYS doing this. Every few seconds, she has that hiccuping sound, and it hasn't seemed to matter when in the day I've stopped by.

I've privately thought of it as a chicken form of Tourette's Syndrome.

I just have to share, It is so fun to go out and gather eggs now and see the colors....Not the best pic, doesn't show the colors well but you get the idea.
the 2 on the left are the cuckoo marans, they have started getting lighter.
the 2 brown on the right are the FBCM, I think the spotted one is the younger hen just started laying (gets darker every day)
the one on top is one of the ameraucana
and the bottom is my old ameraucana...she usually has a bluer shade to her eggs but it is very light at the moment.

The only thing missing is the little OE creamy white eggs. they missed laying yesterday.

Good to hear from you Shawn! Hey I am meeting my mom's accountant Saturday in Id Falls, I will be sure to mention you to see if she needs your help. She is retiring next year and I get the fun job of being her POA and taking care of her financials. yay.
Sounds like you have gotten alot done over there! Whew! Hope you get to feeling 100 percent again soon. That is too bad you got so sick. Was wondering where you were

Are you still doing chickenstock in the Spring? If so I may bring some birds, I am getting the hatching bug again, and getting some nice eggs from people, but need a place for the extras...

Yes we are planning on Chickenstock again this year.. Saturday May 5th. I think we will have a lot more breeders bringing birds now that we know what to expect attendance wise... I would definitely plan on hatching tons and bringing all the extras!!!

Is she a greedy eater? Poultry will do that when they over-stuff their crops.

That might explain why some of mine get a random cough sometimes, especially when they've just eaten. I've been trying to figure out what is causing it. I found an old foam pillow out in the garden this morning, too. They'd been pecking at it, which I'm sure isn't healthy. I grabbed it and as many pieces as I could find and discarded it.

Both my Icelandic cockerels will crow now. I thought it was just the one that I put up a video of on here a while ago, but no. I looked outside this morning and there's the other one, standing on top of the run and crowing like he's the king of the world. Those boys......I love them, but I hope they don't annoy the neighbors.

I'm seriously trying to set aside time to attend Chickenstock this year. I have it on my calendar!

Well I took the boys back out to their pen today ( we reinforced the pen with more cattle panels.) They have gotten so that when they see me coming they take off running. (Run! Mom's coming) So I think they are feeling better. They are all stiff and sore and kinda gimpy, but seem to be healing nicely....I am cleaning with warm soapy water then a chlorohexidine wash. then drying and spraying with Vetricyn wound spray, twice a day. (I can spray that right on Cody's eye cut) So far so good. I feel pretty confident that they will make it.
Love the colors! And that speckled egg is gorgeous

How is that goat doing with the hurt neck? Did he pull through?
Loving the eggs, I was so excited when I found that.
