Utah!

Blu, I'm glad your boys are doing better. That's inspiring to hear that they're doing so well

You guys are lucky that you get to go to chickenstock. I would loooove to come and just meet people and see all of the fowl there. Of course, I'd probably get in trouble and come home with at least six different kinds of chickens

Cynthia, how are your babies doing?

Hi Casa de Pollo....Eggs are doing great. We get 3-5 eggs a day and finally got 6 twice. So Pearl won't be going to freezer camp! We have a light in the coop that helps with the morning/evening short hours of sun. And the heat wrap on the water tank in the coop has worked great even with temps of 22! Outside of Blondie being egg bound for a couple of days, all the girls seem to be healthy and happy....and Blondie is back to her pecky self. Hope all is well with you guys! ucm

Its almost thanksgiving. Time to think about putting up Christmas decorations. I bought some new lighs and dear gullible hubby thought I was going to replace the lights on the house. Not me I hung them on the front of clucking ham palace. Of course we had all the chickens helping they even tried to get on the ladder. Pretty funny. Not sure if I can get a picture at night but will try. I also managed to get the lights up on the house. At least I supervised. I hope to make it to chicken stock as well. I wish we could do one here in Utah. My vet friend is going to look at roosters vocal cords. She hopes to be able to figure out how to decrow a rooster. I have a BEAUTIFUL black and gold Americana rooster I would love to keep, He isn't crowing yet but she hopes when he does she can remedy the problem without emasculating him. Wish me luck

I'm seriously trying to set aside time to attend Chickenstock this year. I have it on my calendar!

Red... you are invited to come to chickenstock too!! And it doesn't matter if you go home with six different kinds of chickens as long as you go home with less than you bring!!! So I guess you better get the hatching plans started!!!

You are invited to Chickenstock too!! (maybe you could help Red out with her chicken math LOL) Good luck on the decrowing... Mahonri in Phoenix tried one last year but the rooster didn't survive the surgery.. (wasn't cheap either!!)

The hickup-ing chicken sounds like she might have a dust allergy or to something commonly around her. I had a hen allergic to organic feed when we were back on a farm...she stopped the sound after I switched back to regular food. See if some stuff changes that for her?
