Utah!

I avoid Walmart like the plague on black friday, if I can. It's just too crazy for me there. However, I do like going to some other places just to people watch. Mostly though, I go for the online deals.

I'm not a shopper. SERIOUSLY not a shopper, and there is no way on earth that I'll be going anywhere near Walmart on black Friday. I have to make a quick run to the feed store to pick up something I forgot for the horses, but I can take the back roads to get there. Good luck and be safe to all of you braving the crowds!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay, so thinking about Chickenstock. What should I bring? I guess I better start planning.

Instead of referring to something awful as "the seventh circle of hell' or "the plague", I call it "Walmart on Black Friday". I think that sums up my feelings for shopping on Black Friday.

Tomorrow, I will be showing houses down in Springville. So, if someone wants chicken train from Weber county to southern utah county, let me know ASAP.

I have a Lavender Orpington Pullet for sale. If anyone is interested, let Sphinx know, she will be right close, and I can meet her in Springville. This little girl has been outdoors in the day, in a small coop with a heat lamp at night. Also, a cinnamon sussex, that I am not sure what the sex is. Smaller than one other sussex that is the same age..so..?
Sphinx, not sure how you feel about Orpingtons, but this little one is really a pretty color. Just thinking about your losing your lavender girl lately.
I only want 5 each for them..(Black Friday Sale at Cynthia's)

I have to place some chicks, I had better hatches than I thought I would a few times in a row. The Lavender Orpington is 5 weeks old today, the cinnamon sussex is 4 days younger.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am not a shopper on Black Friday never have and never will. It will be hiking for us tomorrow. :D

Whittni absolutely you can have some of these pretty birds I'm hatching! I'll keep you updated on how they are doing.

I guess it's too late to catch the chicken train, but thank you for the offer! Unfortunately the two survivors from the hatch we just did have both turned out to be boys. I guess they could have caught the train back if you are handy with cooking "homehatched" chicken pot pie.

Our Black Star just won't quit! Super chicken! And she hasn't molted this Fall--usually she's not laing at this time of year due to molting.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Madchicken, suh-weet! I love it when that happens! My girls are getting really good at hiding theirs from me, bah.

One of my cockerels woke me up bright and early this morning. Crowing roosters don't normally bother me, but I was really worried that a neighbor would get annoyed and complain. So, my cockerel is in jail for a few hours this morning while he gets it out of his system for the day. "Jail" being the nice, warm garage. I think I'm going to have to start putting my two Icelandic boys in the garage at night so that when they crow in the morning, it's not as audible. And on a bit of a different note, one of my turkeys keeps climbing the fence and running out front. So, she spent the afternoon tethered out back yesterday to avoid trouble. She didn't particularly like it, but oh well. And, my wild turkey's tail is coming back in. YAAY! She's got the cutest little tail nub now

well i did not go to cal ranch today. the ad did not tempt me enough. but in other news my sis who lives out near vernal with a bit of land is wanting to work with me to raise a bunch of meat so it looks like next year we will do a beef cow, and a bunch of meat chickens and possibly some turkeys. she may even do meat rabbits but i am not sure if i will be in on that one much. for the turkeys it would be ideal to have a trio and hope they hatch out lots of babies each year, maybe if needed stick them one at a time under a silkie (can you imagine a silkie mother with a baby turkey? :gig ) also i will be getting my sister a few silkies for her birthday in the spring and several layers, most likely black sex links or something because eggs are so expensive out there
