Utah!

Congrats on the new dog! She is beautiful! Wow you guys are getting all the snow this year. Everytime you post crazy snow, we have an inch maybe :) it is ok with me! haha!

GUESS what? My eggs are due tomorrow night. I started lockdown a day early because they looked so full....and I have a pip this morning AND cheeping! I can hear it going crazy! This is 36 hrs earlier than the 21 day mark. Is that normal? Do you think it will be ok? I was quite surprised. But very happy one is working on the shell. Whew.

No pips or cheeps on the other two. Cross fingers for me! I am hoping I get two so they have a friend.

My egg---see the pip down there on the small end, not in the air cell? Wrong way buddy! But it must be getting air through the pip because it is pretty big.

Our snow....not much.

What a difference in snow! It is still snowing here.

Congrats on the pip..even if it is on the wrong end. Give it pretty much the day..like you said, it is getting air. I've had those small eggs hatch fine from that end. It may have a real high vault though, so that is the main concern as to why it pipped at that end. It can't turn. That's one of the problems with the Silkies with the high vaults. So, give it the day, like it would normally take, and then, if nothing more has happened, it may be time to chip away.
If you have another bator, you can put it in that one, so you don't have to keep opening your bator with the others. I don't worry too much when I open bators with lock down eggs..like I just read somewhere, and what I do too, is throw a wet paper towel to bring the humidity back up quick. That's what I do when I snatch a hatched baby so it won't knock the other eggs around. Early is usually what happens with the small egg too. Good luck. Going to be back on later to see a baby ~ ahem ~ showgirl!

I think it snowed out there. Sundance, dont' think Scott and I are going to head for Orem today. We can bring him another time. It is still .. snowing! I just heard a snow plow go by..and on our street. We just don't want to get on that freeway today. If yous see this, and you still plan on going..be careful!

Lisa, the brown leghorns are very pretty. I had one. They don't lay every day like your whites though. And, I've heard horror stories on leghorns, but only from people that have large flocks of them. They love their food. I am now going on my 4th with my pullet out there. She already comes around me when I'm putting food out. I just don't force them to be held. Miss Piggy squats for me if I reach out to her now when I am down and she has come around. I had to clip her wings when I first got her, and I'm sure I will clip this other girls wings when she decides to investigate the top of the apple trees. Or ends up over the fence in our neighbors yard. Had to clip my blue girl..that I don't know what to call, because she is not an EE! Man, she lays pretty dark brown eggs! Anyway, she was up on our gate a couple of weeks ago. Already clipped the EE mixes' wings, she flew into the dog area when Toby was alive. He was a good boy..I think. I heard a lot of commotion, went out, he came running to me, and I watched him, he was looking back at the kennel and dog house area..thought a hawk had the bird, but the EE mix was scratching wildly in the corner of the kennel trying to get out..I leave the kennel door open. So, clipped her wings. Always fixes the flighty problem.

So, I did it. I got me another Golden. And it's a girl! I haven't had a girl dog in a long time, never in a Golden. She is unique. She has white paws. White on her chest, and down her nose. I am going be asked and asked, oh, what is that mix? And when I say, she is pure, they won't believe me. You really don't see it often, but it can happen. She was the only one with the white on her in the litter. What a sweetheart. Of course, she's a Golden! ;)
I kept calling her Little Miss..or Missy..or Little girl. So, it's mostly Missy, guess that's her name. She is going to be big. Took her out in the snow today. She loved it once she got used to it. They are water dogs. Even my little Brody liked playing in it, but my Schnoodle..what a brat dog. lol..Grumpy..only 6 years old, but grumpy with the other dogs.

How much snow did you guys get? We are still getting it!

The coop run is covered Missy got her face in it right away.

Hey get back here, I'm not done playing yet. :) Brody and Missy, Brody is in the snow!

I just put two small pullets out there in the end run yesterday The EE mix and Miss Piggy are standing up against the
can't see them..they are behind the wall, where's it's warm. end of the run for them, next to the start of the other one.

There's Grumpy..look at those ears back, like he's saying Missy wants to play in the deep, Brody says no way,
leave me alone! Yep, he wants in. I already did that. :)

Send some snow pictures you guys. Would love to see how Logan got. And just North of us!
Congratulations on your new puppy! She's precious!

Thanks pawtrait! She is precious. She has some of Toby traits, and, some of our Grizz traits. We keep comparing when we see something in her, or if she does something like them. Yesterday, she grabbed DH arm with both paws, and we both almost said in unison..ohh..that's what Toby would do! Her big body reminds us of Grizz..I should post a picture of that big boy, but he had real short legs..square head. Missy looks like she is going to be taller like Toby. It's been fun..and, it's a busy job as well. She's doing pretty well with training.

Here is my Grizz Bear..he is older here..Love that big block head! He was a great dog!
We think Missy just may have his color..not as red as Toby.

One is out. The second one with the good pip. It zipped right around the black line, popped right out! It is a showgirl, and white so it may be paint or white. BUT ..after I bought the eggs I saw a review for this seller saying they had a lot of pink skin...this one is definitely showing a lot of pink skin. Turkey. Well not a turkey, a chicken, but well you know what I mean :p Stinker. Still cute though. Will get a pic here in a min.

It does have five toes, and a bowtie. But pink and dark spotted skin. Like the little pink pigs with dark spots lol! The second one trying to get out is light too, the third one is pipped. yay!

Neat Lisa, Can't wait to see the little fluffy things.

The first one is definitely a paint, There are patches of black feathers showing up on her back as she dries out. The second one looks like it has the proper black skin, and white feathers...can't tell if it is paint yet or not, or silkie or showgirl... #3 is still just hanging out. I did not realize how much I missed this.

My dog suddenly remembers too. He is grounded to the bathroom for the day.
