You guys have been chatty on here. Everyone's getting hit with this crazy cold weather. I was kind of surprised at the temps yesterday morning. When I went to IFA tonight to get some more feed for our birds, my mom got a heat lamp to put out in the run. We still need to get a hook installed to hang it from, but I think everyone in the preserve will be pretty happy to have the added warmth. Now I just need to talk myself out of my paranoia that the extreme cold will shatter the bulb while it's on..............
I am so fried right now. Work has been busy, but great. I think my body's trying to get over something, too. I am having a hard time focusing and haven't been feeling too well for a little while. Been drinking water like a fish, too. Cynthia, I hope you get feeling better soon, and the same goes to anyone else who's sick right now. It's the pits.
Cute babies! And Hector, I hope you find a good home for your boy. He's sure pretty. Lisa, I think you need an Icelandic roo to keep an eye on your girls
Wouldn't you agree, Shawn? Mine are very good about minding their ladies - although I'm gonna flog the one if he keep breaking the feathers on my BO's saddle area. Dang little neanderthal. It's a good thing he's a gentleman and gives her all the food she wants when they're together!
Awwww, what was I going to say? Come on, brain. I still neeeed yoooouuuu!!
I hope everyone is doing alright, other than dodging the gumboo that's going around.
Oh, someone mentioned using eggs that had frozen. I have used mine for hard boiled eggs if I know they're less than a day old. Anything beyond that, I don't like to take chances. I just cook them up and serve them back to the ladies, if they don't seem spoiled. I figure that the fresh ones are fine, though. I've dropped a few eggs into the pot too hard before and had them crack while boiling, and they're still fine. It really doesn't seem too much different from being frozen.
