Utah!

I just candled my eggs. Only one looks good.

I'm so sorry Mimichicks. I had a day like that yesterday. It proved to be true that the more $$$ I spent on eggs, the worse the hatch seemed to turn out.
My eggs that are in now look like the post office tried to scramble them

. Worst air cells ever! I was sulking around ready to toss the incubator & eggs and make room to start my seeds for the garden. Seeds always pop out and then they ALWAYS give me food- so much easier. sigh....

Today was a SUPER fun day!
Just like Corvidae, I HAD to go to IFA for feed so why not look at the chicks, right?! Really, you can see that I had no choice

My son got the Naked Neck Turkins he wanted.
My daughter wanted a polish so.....Off to see Sundance!

Sundance, Thank you so much for the visit and for showing my kiddos everything. They really had a great time. It was so nice to meet both of you.
The princess has named her polish baby from you. She chose Aphrodite -you know like AFRO-dite. Such a silly girl!

Here are the babies that joined our family today

My son has named his white NN "Granny" after Granny on Beverly Hillbillies

~note to self, never give mealworms to chicks if planning to add younger babies to their brooder. Newborn chick feet look way to much like those tasty wormies!

your kids were darling. Don't tell your boy I said he was darling but he was. I hope she enjoys the baby. They are really cute.
Cynthia do you want me to pick up a naked neck at IFA for you?

Cyndiloowho cute little chicks! I think it is so fun that your kids know who the Beverly Hillbillies are!! I grow up with that show.

Granny is the perfect name for a NN.

Ok here are the chickies. I'm sad to say the little one I was worried about died in my hands a couple of hours ago.

Oh my goodness..sundance, you were reading my mind! Look at that fluff on that WHITE one! Looks like my last girl. If you can find a pullet with that much fluff, I'll take it. And you can take one of my OE's.

I went to IFA here ins Spanish Fork today. No chicks until the first of March there..then last week of this month of Feb.

Congrats Hattie. Those little stinks took their time. Glad they made it, loving the blues. :)) Sorry about losing one, it never gets easy when you try so hard to bring them around. :(

It's coming down here..had a little short break from this morning, but really coming down again, and windy here. So blowing snow here. Says, right through to Sunday. :/

My non NN laid her first egg today. I knew she was really close, when I saw her squat for the blue girl yesterday when she pecked at her to leave the area..she just squat. She was a good girl. I went to check for a blue egg, because I knew she hadn't laid yet. I open the nest box door, and off goes Daisy, leaving this behind. I was worried with all of that nice dry straw, she would want to lay in it, in fact, my thought was to check all around for one as I was going in to check for the blue egg. The wheaten was in another box. :D
Not a bad size for this little girl. Nice hard shell too. Speckles too.

Sooooo jealous your IFA has chicks, I called ours AGAIN lol and they said the middle of next week.( I might need to drive south tomorrow....I am so excited!

Hattie your Polish turned out so cute! I love your blue girl!

Snowing here now. BUMMER! I am ready for the snow to melt. Last year, on Valentine's Day, we had our lawnchairs on the back patio and the sun was shining and it felt so good, very very different outside this year. :barnie

My Elvis once again was teasing and never laid an egg today. Pooh. She is 11 months old. Stinker.
