Donna, go look, go look! hehe, I cannot wait to go peek, the IFA south location here said ten days last Saturday.. The North has more room, so I am hoping they get their's at the same time, I have a couple common breeds I am keeping my eye out for. I just LOVE looking at the chicks at the store, so many, i can sit there and stare at them for hours. The store people probably think I am a little nuts.
My eggs are looking good

Wheaten Ameraucanas this time, just a few but they look to be all developing. Hoping to set more marans eggs the first part of next week
Congrats Hattie on the pips, hoping to hear news and pics on chickies

Unless i missed it...I got behind there for a few days. Sundance, congrats on your baby seramas too, too bad about the one with defects, I have had one like that, every time it chirped stuff was coming out, it was awful!
My Polish keeps getting cannibalized out in the coop, she recovered fine from the dog bite, but she has some blood feathers broken off/growing in around her tail and they just keep munching on her, I got so fed up at my girls yesterday! I finally put the big black grow out cage in the coop, and put her in it to protect her. Now they just all sit and stalk her. That is the ONLY thing about chicken keeping that I do not like, the way they like to eat blood, it grosses me out

I had some issues last spring with this and had to rehome some meanies, this time it is all of them, they got a taste of her tail and just won't leave her alone. I have tried no-pick lotion with the tea tree oil, bitter spray, nothing works, those couple feathers would just drip and they were chowing down on the shavings that the blood dripped on, then attacking her like she were Sunday dinner. I need to get her feathers grown out a bit so that it is not so attractive to the others. I am worried about the pattern this has created in my flock though!
