Utah!

Hey, just a quick pic showing what I have been doing today. had one blocking the doorway so no one could get out. So I had to do some untangling. Everyone is doing good now though.
Of course I got hit with a bad vertigo attack while I was bringing them in the house. So I am moving slow now but at least I have a week before anyone else is due.

so these three were born on top of the 4 that were born the other day? Tooo cute

Hey all, so I made my incubator (using lots of info from BYC). I'm not quite finished, but here is the foundation. I currently have 3 mason jars with water (heatsinks), a tupperware of water on some ceramic tiles (for humidity), a water heater thermometer, and a PC fan (sitting on a mason jar) to blow up at the light and thermometer. I haven't bought a thermometer/hygrometer to measure the exact temperature and humidity, but the food thermometer I have in there says the temperature is fluctuating between 96 and 104 degrees. What could I do to regulate the temperature better? What should the humidity be here in Northern Utah?

The following pictures are of the outside of the incubator, inside the first window, and inside the second window. Any help would be awesome!

This looks great! I am sure you will get a great mix of girls and boys. Have fun!

Cynthia, those chicks are so beautiful. I love them. I'm glad your eggs are developing so nicely.

Mimi, I usually candle my eggs daily from about days 4-12. Before that, not much to see and after that, too dark too see.

Red, that's so funny about your noisy ameraucana!

Delarooshens, good luck on your hatch.

Acemario, your incubator looks really cool. I have a humidifier in my house, and we're usually right around 35-40%. It seems like without a humidifier, it's around 20 or so.

Hattie, yay for pips!!!

Sundance, can't wait to see those babies hatching.

I'm excited- I got an egg from my wellsummer ish bird today. I think they're finally starting to perk back up and lay again. My olive egger has been laying pretty much every day, which is awesome.

Hey yall, I'm from Hooper, Utah. I have 5 pullets and looking to get about 4 more chicks this Spring. Does anyone know what week the stores (IFA, Cal-Ranch) will be putting their baby chicks in stores? I'm so anxious to get more & I want to have first pick

Or does anyone know any local hatcheries that sex chicks?
