Utah!

So many good news from everyone today

That is great!!! Good luck to all of you that received eggs for hatching.

If anyone ever needs a ride from Utah County up north, I go to Davis county every Wednesday and I would be happy to take someone along.

Not much new here, still battling with the hens. I have 2 back int he laundry room now. The ones with vent gleet. One laid a bloody egg yesterday and I am suspecting my boss hen was pecking at her vent so I took both girls back inside. I also cleaned out and sprayed the whole coop today. Not what I thought I would be doing in the snow but I am glad I did. The floor was all wet. Water had dumped there and it was not pretty. Hopefully it can dry off now. I also sprayed the Adam's spray for mites and other critters. I have DE but with the coop so wet it wouldn't have worked.

The little chicks are so cute. I was lucky today. I went to IFA and they had no little ones (whew) I am sure otherwise I would have bought some more. LOL

Yay for Frisco's first egg! Woohoo! It's about time, girlfriend!

This is very very very VERY VERY fun news about you traveling from Utah county to Davis county. You might be enabling many a chicken addict with Cynthia hatching all the time down there...:)

Hope that gleet clears up. What a big chore all that work in the coop. It always feels so good though when it is clean and fresh shavings are down, right? Lasts about.... 2 days lol.

I have 2 in my garage that are totally ready to go out to the coop, almost 8 weeks old, getting pretty big. I keep thinking I should set up the chickie cage in the coop and start transitioning them out...but I sooooo enjoy going out in the garage through out the day and seeing their little happy faces, I know once they go out to the coop I won't get to pet them and talk to them as much. They have become so tame from all the handling. I so wish chickens did not have such stinky frequent poops, I would totally have my showgirl (guy?) as a housepet!

Not much leg room in here anymore Ma!!

I didn't know that LuckyPickins was selling again! I love getting eggs from her! She wraps really well. Not sure if you all remember that box that came in the mail, and as she put it when she saw the picture I posted, it looked like an elephant had sat on it. Here's the picture..not one broken egg! Best thing, her eggs hatch well. They are fertile!

She wasn't selling there for a while. Took some time off.

Woohoo! Hope there is a bullseye in there! She is such a beautiful girl.

I have good news too. My white crested blue Polish Frisco, that got hurt by the dog attack, and I nursed her back to health, is not limping anymore, feathers are growing in nicely, AND.....she laid me an egg today. The first since she got hurt. I am so happy

I saw that egg in there and I was so proud of her, she is a survivor! I finally feel like she is going to be just fine, with no lasting damage. Whew!!

Lisa, that showgirl is so pretty! Hoping for a girl there!

Buff Columbian, pretty! Sasha, I hope you get a good hatch from those eggs!

Lisa, I'm so happy that Frisco is doing so much better! Yaaaaay.

agregar, hope you can help the girls' gleet to clear up soon. Poor babies. I cage anyone that gets even a minor scratch, because I do have a few birds that will pick at someone else's wound. No cannibalism at my place, please.

When they hatch how will you tell who is who? Such a nice variety

All this egg hatching is getting to me. My little bantam has gone broody again and i am so tempted to put some eggs under her. I just don't have any place to put her. She sleeps with the big girls and they kick her out of the nest boxes if they are all being used. Maybe i will have to modify a corner of the coop to give her a chance to be a mama.
