Sundance, that's very exciting about Jacque! I hope he's finally, truly healed.

Lilwanis, I'm sorry about that poor little houdan.

Hattie, that boy is sure gorgeous. Wish I could take him, but I have too many roosters as it is.

Speaking of roosters, I still really want one of your legbar roosters, Corvidae. I'll give you the white one in trade, if you're wanting meat, and throw in an additional rooster to boot...

I think my broody is coming out of her broodiness. She is up and down off of the eggs the last two days. i took 2 bad eggs from under her and left 1 bad and two good last night. She broke the bad egg today. Just checked the good 2 eggs and i still see movement. I am really worried. Is there any one close to Lehi with a bator all ready set up and running that i could have baby sit the eggs. they are due Monday. I will come and get the chicks once they hatch. I am willing to trade for services.

Lilwanis, so sorry about your Houdan.

Hattie, that boy(?) is beautiful! Hope you can find a good home for him.

Madchicken, I wish I lived closer, even though West Valley isn't that far away. I have a vacant incubator .... but I'm still a novice with it, too

If things get dire, give a shout and I'll see what I can do to help.

I had to go to IFA tonight to get more feed. Of course, I had to stop by the chicks and melt for a few minutes. They have some Polishes, Delawares, blue Wyandottes, and Brahmas at the Riverton IFA now. Nope, I still didn't get any. They had signs up that say you need to purchase a minimum of four chicks, I guess for warmth.

Came home to find a little mallard camping out on our lawn. I was very excited to have a duck here, even if only for one night, but he got nervous when I tried to gently herd him into the back yard and flew away. Pooh

Edit to say, the lawyer says two months still.

Well, the runty houdan did not make it :( she was eating from my hand and drinking and her pasty butt had cleared. I checked on the, at lunch around one, and she was moving around just fine. When I got home she was dead. I think it was a failure to thrive. She was half the size of the others. Everyone else seems happy and moving around, so hopefully she will be the only one.

That is sad! i wonder if it was just the stress from shipping? One of the white polish died last week too. If you will pm me your address I will send you your money back, I wish I had more and I would give you another one :) The hatchery is being really good to refund my money though so I want to do that for you.

So far mine are looking pretty good, the white polish that died was sold to a friend of Cynthia's, I have a few more here so I am going to get her another one. I hope the rest of the batch are ok! Especially the ones that have been sold. The shipment made it here in pretty good shape, but I have heard of others losing a couple after receiving them :( When do you get your other batch of eggs from the University? It will be fun to see if there are differences at the chick stage and in the adult stage. One of mine is feathering in mostly white on the wings, and one is mostly black with white tips.

Doughie are your Houdans doing ok? I hope so :)

Cynthia! Where are you? Hope you are doing ok! I miss you :D We need an egg/.hatching update!

I have a few pips...they are due tomorrow morning, so no crazy early birds this time.

I appreciate the offer, but I feel like I knew the risk of buying her going in. I think that the trip back to SLC was just too much for her after shipping. The others are all doing great they had a brief bout of pasty butt. I added some ACV to their water for the probiotic and that seems to have cleared them up.

The U of A eggs were not expected until June, but I the lady Pam's me when I got back on Friday and sent them Saturday. They arrived yesterday and are in my bator as of a few hours ago. I sure hope I can get them to hatch!!!! I ordered a second hova bator for lockdown. I have some am eggs that are supposed to lockdown tomorrow night. I don't think they survived, but am holding out hope. Sundancen's eggs might be my first to hatch. I sure hope so. I am starting to get depressed.
