My Wh Am eggs that came all weepy and were not the right color--a total bust. Due yesterday, they are all duds. I have none hatching now until 4/5, Good thing, I need time to rearrange the brooder situation. I need to quit keeping so many from each hatch

My Ameraucana and D'uccle eggs are taking FOREVER to hatch. I had 1 d'uccle egg pip last night. 2 more D'uccles had pipped between 6-9am this morning. None of the Ameraucanas. So I pipped little breathing holes in all of them. Tossed 2-they were definitely dead. :( 2 were definitely alive though, and had pipped the inner membrane. So tonight, I officially have 3 D'uccles hatched and 1 Ameraucana hatched. a 2nd Amer is zipping right now. 2 more D'uccles are peeping in their eggs, but not making a move. So if they haven't hatched by tomorrow morning ( 24 hours after due to hatch) I'll be helping them out.
Here's a pic of my handywork....with a drywall screw!

And for the heck of it...baby goat pictures from tonight! They are doing GREAT!

OK, OK, no more farting around! Here's the bantam Cochin pictures! Took them tonight, tomorrow they will be 1 week old. :)
Birchen

This egg was mismarked as being from her Black/Blue pen. NOT a black/blue baby! ;) She thinks it's either from her blue mottled pen or her blue mille fleur. I'm keeping this one, even though it's looking boyish.

From her Lavender project pen, baby #1. Could be a few different colors...time will tell.

This is baby #2 from her lavender project pen.

This baby was probably mismarked, too...suppose to be mottled!

Silver Laced

Last but not least, from the Lemon Blue project pen. Could be another Birchen, but time will tell.

My first Mille Fleur D'uccle baby that was hatched this afternoon! :) Still fluffling up in the pic.

I'm thinking that second baby is looking very girly. Look at that pointy feathering on the wing. :)) That fourth picture..oh man, what a cutie.

Great job with the drywall screw!!

Red, no findings = good news. It might just be a simple nourishment issue. Be positive girl! About those dogs though, I am with you 100 percent. We have neighbors out here with a ba-zillion dogs and they drive me a little crazy. Most people by me have 2 or more--one has 9, one has 5, lots have 3 and 4. And in the summer, in the early sunny morning, it is the dogs I hear, and a distant bawk bawk or two are no comparison. Bummer on the icelandics. At least you have an endless supply to practice with, right?

Sasha! OMGoodness! Those chicks are so cute, the one with the big dark eyes, so adorable! That was totally worth the wait, cuteness overload!

Hello all! I'm in Vegas and wondering if anyone in the st George area or closer has any Ameraucana babies for sale? Any info would be great! Thank You!

Thanks, Cynthia! I'd LOVE it if the 2nd baby is a girl...I looked at their wings yesterday and there was one row of feathers on him/her, I swear! LOL They grow so fast. His/her wing feathers aren't as developed as the couple others that are screaming "girlie"...but not as tiny as some of the others that suggest boy. Ooooh, boy. Hurry up and wait!

Glad I could oblige.

My hatch count for today is now up to 2 Ameraucanas and 3 D'uccles. I have the 2 bantam wheaten Amers that Jill gave me last September as babies, they are both girls. I'm REALLY hoping I have 1 girl and 1 boy with these new babies.

I forgot one thing! After I screwed little breathe holes into the eggs, I used my doTerra fractionated coconut oil and a q-tip to lube the outer membrane so it didn't dry out.

I couldn't stand it and candled the eggs under my broody this morning. One had a live chick! It had pipped the inner membrane to get to the air sac. I hope it makes it!! I feel like a nervous first-time father outside the delivery room, in a sense.

Welcome! We do have a few regulars in the Southern Utah area. Not sure if any of them have babies at the moment, but hopefully they'll see this.

I did see this today. Would have been nice if they added a chicken for size comparison. It looks really cool but it looks really small to me. I cant believe he wants 800 dollars for the whole thing. For that much you could build a castle style coop (with a mote and fish) that would easily house all your Seramas.

I like the mote and fish idea, It could be an extension of cluckingham palace, bur the price is 500.00 for one and 800.00 for 2 . Still a lot but I am tempted because it is so cute

Those babies are sooooooo cute!

Red, normal CT scan is good. Like it was said, it could be a simple nutritional issue. Yay on an internally pipped baby!

RLH1, welcome. I don't know if any of our southern folk have anything. Hopefully they'll pipe in.

Sundance, that would be so cute! I am going to try and come visit you tomorrow morning. I'll PM or call you.
