Utah!

sundance, that was so nice of you. Night time is a good time for her to put a baby under mom.

I showed my husband your kitty. I would take it, and here comes the but, two reasons, my hubby is not fond of cats, although we've had them before, he would not really care that much if I took it, but, again, I have a lap dog that would not..like a kitty on his lap. Very pretty photos like Lisa said. :))
Have to ask, is she what they call a bi-color? That's what we called our two colored cats when I raised Persians in my last marriage. A lot of fur! Just the opposite of yours.

She is a patch calico. she has 3 colors not two. black red and white. It just didn't show in the photo. Your welcome to take her for a trial period if you like. Her name is silly sally

Sundance, you guys can't get rid of Razzle! She is such a gem! I forbid it

Went out to the coops, opened the egg door:
1000

I thought Whoa! There is three in one box! Then I see the tail on the left bottom, that makes four, then I try to push a few back to make them go elsewhere, and a black one is underneath the whole mess underneath the others. 5? Seriously girls. There are seven nests in two separate houses. 5 more nests were empty, then i went to the back coop and opened the egg door:
1000

Two in one nest, next to two empty nests. Somebody posted a few pages back "is it normal for there to be 2 chickens trying to lay in one nest?" Ummmm ya! lol :p

That is great, I have never even had 2 in a box yet.

On other news...I was up all night with the last pregnant momma last night, She was a first timer and was scared to death so I had to sit with her for a few hours to keep her calm. At 3:30 she finally had twins, 1 doe and 1 buck.....Managed to feed them and shower and slept for about an hour before I had to go feed everyone.....Boy am I tired. It has been a long time since anyone has kidded at night.

I would have run for my camera for sure! I've had two in there, can't remember ever seeing more than that. Very interesting..so wait, 5 in one nest box, then is that two in there? So 7 eggs, just like that. Wow.

blue, they are adorable! Hope you got some rest.

Well, silly me. I was washing my eggs yesterday, brought in 3 nice looking brown eggs. Was washing away, doing what I always do, >> this one is Rebas, this one is Daisys', this one is Sissy's, then as I was washing the one that I thought was the Australorps, Sissy, I thought to myself, boy, this one is really speckled today, it looks like a Welsummer egg, I don't have a ...wait, yes I do! lol..it had to be the Welsummers', Phoenix. Right in a box!
Went to Cal Ranch today.

Does that tell you anything? They had bantams today. So many had pasty butt. I have never see a pasty butt so bad as I saw on a couple of them. No one was around to complain to. So, I got some paper towels, and cleaned 5 butts. A couple of them took a poo right away. Poor babies.

Blue, you and Phoenix are so totally awesome

I was worried that my 10"X12"X12" nest boxes were too small until I busted two of my biggest girls in one along with a medium sized rabbit!

Ugh, that makes me sad! Whenever I see the chicks with pasty bum, I always want to buy them just so I can clean them up and take care of them! Cynthia, you are my hero for cleaning those babies off. And yaaaay, your Welsummer laid! Good girl! When did you hatch her? I'm wondering if she's a sister to the one I got for my mom. She hatched around June or July, I think, and started laying about a month ago. She is very sweet. I'm glad my mom has her

So, I was just out in the garage checking on everybody. My broody wanted to come out of the carrier (the Icelandics are all penned, now) So I opened the door and stood back to act as crowd control. My girl came out of the carrier several times clucking, looking back, and then going in. I think she was trying to get her babies to come out. They weren't quite sure what to do. She finally gave up and sat back down, like "Oh, well. Maybe tomorrow".

Sundance, that little Amercaucana you gave me last night is doing so well. My broody doesn't mind her at all, and she loves to zip around the carrier whenever mama is up for a stretch.

Here's Vona, my Icee baby!
