Sundance, I grabbed one of the hatchling's shells and took this pic next to my EE green egg and a white egg from my blue andie. All three chicks came from eggs that were the same size and color.

Aww Sasha, thank you! That is an incredible compliment to receive.

Yay! It's time to get all mushy and make some of our gentlemen squirm, hehehe! Love you guys, too

Guess what? I just walked out back to see if there were any eggs in the nest mound. There were two brown ones inside, and a white one laying outside. I laughed at first, because I thought someone had dropped it in a hurry to get out and eat (I was throwing feed and calling them) Then I picked it up and was like, "Wait, this is a BIG one. Who laid this? And how did it get all spotted with dirt?"

Then it hit me. Not a chicken egg. It's a TURKEY EGG!!! Yeah!!! Betty laid her first egg today!!! (first I've found, anyhow) I got a picture but will have to put it up later. It's white with light beige speckles - so pretty. And HUGE!

Hey Friends, I just had the weirdest hatch yet....17 eggs went into lockdown and 9 hatched (which is a good one for me) Friday night the EE egg pipped and hatched. Sat. morning the rest started pipping on the small end or in the middle of the egg. Finally sat. evening we went in and helped everyone left. Every single chick was upside down. managed to save 8.

Does anyone know what would have caused them to be upside down? I don't think I did anything different than before.

So I have 1 EE, 1 OE, and 2 blue wheaten ameraucana, and 5 FBCM chicks.
If anyone is interested in the ameraucana chicks or the FBCM hit me up, I am only keeping the EE and OE.
I just want to keep them a few days to make sure they are all ok.

Promise will get pics up, just been crazy here. back up to 12 bottle babies. Went and picked up a pygmy wether for the monster and a pygmy buck for phoenix (and me)

Good news is 3 babies will be going to las vegas next week!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Desert springs, i don't know the other side of the story and just happened across this thread but that is horrible and I'm terrified of wasps but how can u be afraid of honey bees, they just float around minding their own business. The daughter sounds like a (cant say the word here) Can you not try and get the house in the divorce or something?

Coop update:

I got the roof installed, the nest boxes built, and the wiring done for the bucket heater and the coop light.

I need to build the egg door, and the removable front then paint the whole thing barn red and white.

All three are. A fourth blue egg made it to lockdown, but did not haatch. I have been meaning to ask, you said they were frizzled Easter eggers, who were the parents? Frizzled roo over?

Frizzled roo that was 1/2 Americana and 1/2 Sizzle over EE, purebred Americanas and Auracanas I have had some beautiful babies from that combo
