Utah!

that's a great idea! I will help set it up for you
Brian when your done setting up her island in Chicken Paradise, you can come over here and build me another chicken coop. For some reason I feel like a need a really huge 10 ft by 10 ft walk in coop. My husband said I have too much time to just sit and think about chickens. I just need a farm!

When did you want to come get your girls? Or did you need me to babysit them all until you move, I'm thinking of through your 2 here outside this weekend, so I guess if you want to bring the other 5 here to go outside with them till you move next week. Let me know.

Sundance, don't you just love that feeling you get as soon as you walk through the front door! you scream as loud as you can, " I am home", and you shake your fist in defiance.

On a different note, i have 2 bantam RIR eggs available from your pretty little hen i bought. The rooster looks just like her and is a perfect match. If you have a broody that you want to put some eggs under i could drop them off. Same deal as the Silkies, i will take them back unless you want to keep them then they are all your. I do have a broody that i am going to stick some eggs under, but i still have 5 days left for egg collection so let me know.

no broodys here I;ll let you know

Sundance, glad you are home and resting. We ought to set up a lounge area for you so that you can watch the chickens in your yard

I'm thinking a lounge chair under that little gazebo, along with a swamp cooler, a mini fridge full of snacks and drinks, your computer, and maybe someone with a palm leaf to fan you, haha!

Karen, I use bag balm (I've also heard it called udder cream) on my birds when they have chappy skin. You can usually find it in the horse and cow stuff at IFA or CAL Ranch. I get the green tins, as I use it on my own skin during winter, but they also have a black and white cow patterned tin that would probably work the same. And I don't think it's only the NN's that deal with the dryness. I grabbed one of the little barnyard mix chicks today and noticed that he had dry skin on the back of his head/neck, and he has feathers there.

My stomach has decided tonight that I need to be punished, so I'm going to bed. Sleep good, everyone.

oh red you make me kaugh and it hurts. Are you volunteering for the fan? I am going to share this with Ed as we have everything listed. He'll probably want oi kill you hahaha. I went outside this morning and let the chickens out. I had kept them locked up and a friend was coming to mow the lawn and I worried about the babies not being seen. They were very put out with me. Pretty much said whats up with this? They ran past me out to the grass, The mom with the babies walked slowly out with the babies behind her. Funny thing. Chucky the partridge followed behind herding the the babies. He is so cute with all the babies and it amazes me how tolerent the moms are with him. they chase the other hens away but tolerate the partridge who is devoted to all the babies.

Sundance, I am so happy you're home!!! I was going to see if I could come visit you in the hospital while I was in SL today, but ended up running out of town. If you were coming home, you were probably too tired for visitors anyway.

Cynthia, we were in Zion last July, haven't been back since. This summer really has been amazing with all of the fun traveling we've done. My husband and I are also planning a backpacking trip to King's Peak in August. So excited!

I couldn't have visitors as I was in intensive care. Let us know next time you go to zion we'll tag along

Good news! My chickies are no longer sneezing or coughing, at least from what I can tell. :) I've had the baby leghorns outside today so they can play in the grass/dirt and I think it wore them out.

Sara, I'm so glad they're doing so much better!!! That makes me happy. What a sweet little flock.

Sundance, I'm in on the construction of Chicken Paradise! When we book our next Zion trip, I'll let you know. We made reservations for this one a good 7 months ago, so you'll have lots of notice.

I bought my coop from lowes. It was a 10x10 shed. I converted it to a chicken coop, put in an automatic door for them, painted it purple and lime green and named it cluckingham palace,
