Sorry im kind in to flowers and plants.
yeah i think that is it. cool! i am a big time plant my self and enjoy talking about them. i got these from a good friend in a plant swap years ago. i swear they will grow in anything. and being perennials is nice. they are not a plant you see a lot of in utah. people get shocked that they are sunflowers and a few have asked if it was a certain plant lol but most in utah would not know that plant when they see it :) good luck on the hunt! oh and feel free to talk plants anytime, there are a few of us that are into them on this thread :)

I thought I was the only one who loved plants. Its good to know there are a couple people here that are too. Those sunflowers are really pretty. Would love to have some throughout my yard.

Good morning, everyone! I am excited today because I've started an egg tracker chart for my girls

I had a whopping eight eggs yesterday - even though one got eaten by someone and six of the others got dropped on the floor...............urg..............

Brian, you are not alone in your love of plants, haha. Sphinx has a crazy cool garden full of different-colored plants, and Birdman has a lovely garden, as well. I have to settle for houseplants right now, since I was without irrigation water this summer and the chickens eat anything I plant, anyway. I've currently got one big jade plant from my late grandma, two shamrocks, a maidenhair fern, a bulblet fern, two peace lilies, a bamboo plant, and another plant that I'm unsure of what it is. Looks like some kind of desert plant. I love plants

PIC OVERLOAD:

I got picture happy again this morning. I have been wanting to post the groups of the NN/SG and Marans/SG mixes that I hatched. ("the polka dot chicks") I just keep getting too busy...wanted you guys to see how they are progressing!

This is the oldest Group.

The white ones are from a maransmix (FBCM/Cuckoo parents) mom with my paint SG rooster (so funny they are getting crested heads!)

The black ones are from a NN turken mom and the same roo...no idea why these two do not have naked necks lol. One is a boy for sure.

See the red on top of the first one?

And one black NN down there next to that boy...

Then the chicks hatched yesterday. For sale :)
The Marans/SG cross is the white fully feathered one...the other two are NN/SG mixes

Then the middle batch...these are 2 weeks younger than those first oldest ones. having a hard time deciding who to keep.

The Marans/SG babies, there are two in this batch. I like the one with the spot by its eye alot.

Your babies are so pretty Lisa..I love the NN and SG..there was a time, I didn't. I wonder why that changed? ha ha...these old taste buds keep on changing, thought I would be set in my ways, but I'm finding that isn't the case as I get older..well, maybe in some things. :p

I got a nice white egg today from my Leghorn. Waiting on my sex link now. I'll be in the eggs again. Last night, I wanted something..I scrambled up a couple of eggs, shared some with the dogs, then put some salsa on mine, and had a treat. Yum!

Does anyone here breed Ameraucanas that would like a blue hen to add to their flock? She is pure and very pretty. I need to downsize my flock.

She's 16 months old and is still going through her molt for the year. I would really like to see her go to a breeder flock, as I believe that she has some good genetics to offer. She is free to anyone who can use her for breeding. If you're a ways away from me, I will gladly hold her for you.

Her legs are covered in mud here, but they are a dark blue color, not quite slate. She lays a pale blue egg, not green.

Lisa your chicks are super cute! I'm loving the SG's.

Cynthia I'm glad your leghorn laid for you:) skittles was in the best box all day today off an on, scratching around.. :) not long now. Yay:) my silkie has been doing the egg song and checking out the nest box as well but she hasn't laid yet. I'm hoping I will get 3 eggs tomorrow that would be so cool!

Red that ameraucana is very pretty! I'd take her if I didn't have so many chickens already
