It's a cascading sunflower. It is gorgeous! I have a start that came off of it, if you'd like it

Just let me know soon so that I can dig it up and set it aside for you. I don't think it produces seeds, but it is fun to have and the bees like it.

Actually Tell, they are sold. Remember I told you that I have some in lock down now. 10 of them. Let your cousin know. If he wants them all, that might be the way to go..after I choose the ones I want to watch of course. Can't count those chicks before they hatch, as you well know.
And oh, I do believe all of those eggs I took from your broody mom are fertile..of course. I'll see what hatches, there are some pretty big eggs there!

Ok guys, I finally went out to get a pic--that black japanese banty roo is back for sale (free), I have been holding him to go to a lady down south and it is not working out, he is getting way too old to keep holding onto! I have a few pics of him next to the silkies so you can see how tiny. If anyone is interested please please let me know. He is sooooo sweet. Really a very good boy! No crow yet. 14 weeks old. He usually has that tail up high, but not when i was taking pics, he is very modest haha

For fun, more of these silkies...a bunch of fluff.


The next two pics is hard to see...but there is a blue partridge on the left that I just love!








Ok now lastly a question, this one looked like a cochin from birth, a bantam...and the coloring I think someone said was Birchen, can you tell the gender yet? (By coloring)? As far as comb and wattles go--definitely pink. But the same age as the japanese, and not nearly as much going on...

Ooo, pretty white silkies and SG's. I need to get a photo off to the expert here to see if mine is looking girly yet. Or boy. :/ If I recall, you have said something about how the top comes in..or was that the polish..or was that both? lol

Cynthia--I have noticed on my older "showgirl pullets" (that have not been pullets) that when they get these kind of wild hairs that are longer than the rest it is NOT a good sign. If the hairs on the head all stay about the same length and it is nice and powder puffy and even, chances are waaaaay better they really are pullets Just noticing the trend, after like (7!!!) boys in a row that were my "for sure girls" lol. Finally I have a few girls. 1 partridge, 1 black, but the white is looking like a boy (8 white in a row!) again. I was not meant to have a solid white female showgirl haha

another common name is "clump sunflowers. they are not common. they do have some very small seeds but they can be hard to get before they drop lol. i love them in the garden because they pull in the honey bees like crazy. they are a lot of fun. tons of blooms

Well im off to spend the week sleeping in the back of my truck under a gaint lean to tarp, hunting for deer. Hope i dont freeze to bad.
