Utah!

I actually got spike from you Sundance. She was one of the little chicks that came with the bantam RIR hen. There was 4 chicks all together. This one, one of your famous small white EE's that lays the SBE, and 2 Cochin mixes. Both the Cochins have been rehomed. I still have the little white one. She layes about 4 eggs a week. Spike only lays about 2 but we still love her.

Oh man Gary, you had to tell her that didn't you? I really like spike too..perfect name. And, check out that feathering on that blues legs and feet! Wow!
I need to post my white SG again, and, my buff Silkie, and my splash SG. I am pretty sure that my White SG is a girl. Not sure I am keeping her. She is a sweetheart, but I am getting a lot of Seramas going on. I have a loot of boys right now, of course. One is a frizzle. Oh boy, gorgeous. Not sure I want to keep him. I have a couple of the boys that I am keeping my eye on that I am liking right now.
Anyone interested in a couple of boy Seramas? Pictures tomorrow I guess. Now look what you started Gary.
I can't wait to see your blue all grown up. Very pretty. And I love the color of blue.

Here is far away picture of the white.

I had to rehome my Coturnix Quail rooster tonight. Look what he did to one of his hens. Im so mad.

She is doing ok. Brought her in for tonight. Might keep her in for a day or two. She has a wound on the other side of her head like this one.

Oh poor baby girl! I am glad she is doing ok. Was he just overzealously mating her or attacking her? That is too bad you had to split them up. Loving the pics of your silkies!

Aww, poor hen. I hope she recovers quickly.

Well I got a surprise call this morning, and my new employer wanted to know if I could come in today instead of Thursday. So, I start today. I have a feeling that this may be a trial by fire

One of my neighbors is eventually going to video me chasing chickens around the yard. I just built a new coop for my Buckeyes and they can't seem to remember how to get back in it at night. So the last three nights I have had to catch all 15 of them and put them in one at a time. Some got wise tonight and made it easy for me to catch them. A few decided they would never be taken alive. Fortunately I won, but I am sure the struggle was amusing to watch.

This is the story of my life, many times over. The good news is, they do eventually learn to come inside for the most part.

Madchicken, hope your chicken recovers quickly. Poor thing. I'd get rid of the beast that did that too. Your chickens are so pretty.

Silly, glad to see you back! I'd love to see pics of your flock. In the wintertime, I give my hens a 20% feed and offer oyster free choice. We also feed them all of our kitchen scraps (except poultry meat, I don't want to make them be any more cannibalistic than they already are) and they seem to do fine.

One of my little legbar hens has a swollen eye. I gave everyone denagard. Nobody else is impacted, and her eye is still bad. Not sure what to put on it. There's a million different answers.

I have several boy Seramas up for sale. Just took a photo of these two for now. 7 dollars each. Is that an alright thing to do with the Serama? Ask money for the rooster? They are pure. :D

They keep changing, very pretty now, but will have more color.

Have you had this problem with your quial? I never seen him actually do it to her but 2 other hens have large areas of feathers missing. mabe in the srping i will get another one and trime his beack back so he cant get a good bit on them.

Thanks Sphinx. I need to get pictures of the ones i got from you. Only six mad it out of the nine that hatched. 2 flew the coop when little and one just up and died. It looks like 5 are pullets and one rooster. He is going to be so pretty. He is blue with dark blue hackle and saddle feathers. He will be up for free when he is more mature or starts to crow.

Red how was the first day of work?

Yes one of my males was pretty rough--not intentionally, but the way they grab ahold of the feathers and "jump on" just kept pulling feathers out...the solution for mine was adding more girls, now that he has quite a few it is not a problem...if you want another boy in the Spring let me know, just add a couple more girls to balance it out, that should help! I can get you some hatchiing eggs or chicks in the spring :)
