Hope it's a good one!
happy birthday cynthia!
so i got a catalog in the mail from meyer hatchery... this could be dangerous....
"Do It! Do It!" she chants in a small voice....
I just realized when you posted this that I pre-ordered this year's March 1 order of chicks last year in November.......all those Houdans and turkens...seems so long ago, but yet it does not seem like that time of year yet! I don't think I should even peek in those catalogs for awhile hahaI keep getting the monthly email from McMurray, and I delete it before opening it.![]()
However, I really really like my Austrawhite from Cackle, so I have been wanting to order a couple of those and a Cherry Egger and a Comet for Spring. Has anyone on here gotten chicks from Cackle? Birdguy has used them for chickenstock and so far the chicks I have gotten have been really good layers from them. The Austrawhite is white with black polka dots, a leghorn/australorp, and she lays the fattest eggs, started really early, and is super sweet and people friendly. I got a FBCM from there too, it lays really well, way better than my other FBCM but not quite as dark in color. Better temperament though. So far so good, wondering if anyone else has had good/bad luck with them? And what the shipping is like?
What is a cherry egger? I haven't used them but am interested in the astrawhite and the cherry egger. I', leaving in about 4 weeks for 3 months so it will be late spring before ai get home
