Hey guys, it's been awhile... lD

I have two roosters that absolutely MUST go ASAP. I'll be culling them if no one can take them.

A beautiful Blue Sizzle and a Buff Brahma.

At this point, they're free to whoever will take them.

I'm also selling some of my pullets... I have a White Leghorn and a White Easter Egger, both with light cream chests. I'll be flexible with the price, they just need to go. They're incredibly flighty little jerks. I named them both Bleach for this reason.
Other pullets I might be selling, but am not sure about yet, is Willow (Splash D'Uccle Bantam), and Zebra (Barred Plymouth Rock).

I lost four more birds recently. Two to predators, two to the cold... My Silkie and Brown Leghorn refused to roost for some reason. On the bright side though, I was able to bring back a hen with a broken leg, she's doing great!

Tell, that is one big white chicken. LOL...I think you are right to expect a turkey sized egg from her.
That EE is pretty.
Your SlW's will still change a lot.

Ya she probably won't fit in the laying boxes. Haha. The EE is really pretty she's orange with blue laces on her neck and blue tail feathers. If I could get close enough I would show you

Tell, I love your RIW! What a good-looking girl! I'm excited for when she starts laying.

Pan, welcome back, even if only for a moment! Hope you are doing well

Well, I ran out of daylight today before I could get my chores done, but did that stop me? Nope! I was outside marching around in the dark, face red from the cold and hair doing whatever it pleased.........but here, I think it's better from the chickens' perspective:

EE: What was that noise?

Blue Wyandotte: Someone's moving the roof!!

EE: Oh, it's the human.

Ameraucana: What's she doing?

OE: Hey - hey! I don't want to move right now. It's bed time.

SLW: Oh my gosh, are you kidding me? She's cleaning the coop in the middle of the night? (Note - it was 6 pm)

Ameraucana: And they call us "dumb clucks".

Human: Brrrrr!

BWyan: Great. Our human is nuts.

OE: RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

SLW: I'm not moving. Deal with it.

Anyway............made some homemade chicken noodle soup tonight. It sure hit the spot with this cold wind howling outside

And no, I don't know why I'm still awake at this hour...........especially after an hour and a half of deep cleaning in chicken pens. Good night.

I don't know why I am awake either. It was very cold out tonight. I had to play human elevator again. Last night 11 birds refused to go into the coop. Night before it was about 5. Tonight, about 5 again. I swear I am going to band the renegades so I know who the dumb ones are. Some of them are going in on their own, so the ramp clearly works. One little brat let me put him inside, then ran back out into the cold and dark. The only saving grace here is that the fox is apparently dumber than the chickens cause he has not learned that the hunting here is better at dusk than at dawn.

Did everyone survive the wind and cold last night. I swear my heater ran all night. I'm thankful today that the electricity didn't go out last night with our house being all electric. Could be a cold night without the heater! We do have a second heating option our wood burning fireplace but it still needs to be cleaned out because the original owners left it very dirty. That is scheduled in two week (Hoping he has a cancellation). My gals were trapped in their coop this morning, the wind had shut all there doors and they couldn't get out. My old gals weren't to happy to be Cooped up with the new girls this morning. They were happy when I came to their rescue. I don't know how to keep there water from freezing anyone in Northern Utah have any suggestions? I don't want to buy a heater water, they are pretty pricey! Well I hope you all survived and will again tonight. Here's a few pictures of my girls.

She is one of my new ones. SLW

Here is another one of my new ones. EE
