Utah!

Hey all. I am looking for some Silkies for the Spring. I am not good at the Tiny Chick Thing... my heart is still broken from the ones I did have....

I was hoping someone would like to part with/sell me some maybe 2-3 month olds.....? Preferably White, but one white and one colored would be ok with me too.... any color really.

I know that may be a huge things, but I will gladly pay you for them.

are you looking for roosters and pullets? I have a beautiful little Grey roo with a full beard that is only around 3 months.

I already have a Rooster. He is the most Beautiful thing, but I am sure I shouldn't have two together.

I am still new to the Chicken thing..... this summer will be a year.

Erykah, this is a tough time of year to be getting chickens. You may need to wait til Spring. I have one silkie, and she's a family favorite, so there's no way I'd give her up.

Silly, when those people are talking about adding zero water til then, you need to factor in that they have much higher natural humidity than us. They don't add water, but their natural ambient humidity is in the 40s anyway. I've named eggs in the past- more often than not, actually. In fact, my hen "Shirley" was named that from the time she was an egg. I thought about naming all my eggs some derivative of my neighbor who gave them to me, but I was too tired to do it tonight. I will probably go do it tomorrow. It'll make me laugh.

Well, I got the golden cuckoo marans started tonight. There was only 6, so I added another olive egg to the mix. Madchicken, if you want it when it hatches, it's yours- I feel bad neither of yours hatched. It's a beautiful fat dark green with speckles.

I am sure it is a very tough time to do so. But I am putting it out there for anyone needing to find some hens a home. I am keeping my eyes open for them all over the place.
I am not hoping for a Spring Chick, more like an older babe.

I got a Naked Neck Turkin and a Speckeled Showgirl/Turkin mix Rooster from Lisa in September.

I am excited to get some new girls in my flock. We are doing so well with our girls through the Winter. But Rooster is sleeping outside of the coop perched on the Nester Boxes. (Is that normal?)

I love your boy he is beautiful. One of mine is turning into a pretty little roo also...it is naked necked though, and white, but covered in orange and black and red. Hoping he turns out as cute as yours~! I have 5 silkies, some have single combs though so they are not perfect, but really cute. If I sell one I will let you know, I am debating, to make room for chicks. They have nice beards.

I don't know the difference with the combs and such. I just want them cause they are all fuzzy and silly looking! I am not picky. I know some have feathers on their feet and all sorts.
I however do not pay attention to that. I remember seeing your Silkies while I was there and was like "I NNNEEEEEEEDDDD THEM!"
I love their crazy floppy tops! And their fuzzy butts! hahahaha. No technicalities with me! I don't mind.

And yeah, Snowballs is beautiful but he is kind of aggressive. I have a totally foul mouth so we just look at him after he has pinned a hen and say something like "One Day he is going to understand that No means No. And those hens are gonna teach him the hard way."
I can admit that my kid was like "Snowy keeps biting the Girls! So I shooed him off with my scare stick!"
I didn't know what to do.... (Mind you... the stick is a long twig, so no harm done. Promise. He just keeps Snowy back with it.)

Both of my naked necks are still white..with one having just a couple of black spots...boys don't stay all white correct? I'm still thinking both are girls. The all white one has gone red in the face though. 17 weeks.

Welcome Erika. I have 2 Silkies at will be a year in May, and I don't think I could part with them. I love their fuzzy butts. Good luck finding some. I know in the spring there are several people that sell straight run chicks. But then your having chicks :(

My NN/SG from Casa is like a dirty white, she looks like she rolled in the dirt, but that is her color 24/7, I love it. She does have some black dots. Mine has the black skin like a silkie, and is starting to have a hint of red, more like a purple coloring in her head and neck too. I'm hoping mine is still a girl. Fingers crossed.

Wendy, I'm still fighting the stupid humidity. If I add more water to the tubes it shoots why up to like 40%, but if I just do the sponge, it stays around 30-35% but then after a few hours it drops down, and the sponges are still wet. I don't know. Stupid thing! At least there is humidity in there, right? At least I know I should be able to get it up high for lockdown, hopefully it will stay though.
