Utah!

Great! Do I have to cook it up, or can I just give it to them? What about canned Vegs, like green beans, peas and corn. I'm thinking not because they probably have a lot of sodium in them.

Brad, have to put a big thank you for the reminder of how good that sunflower seed is for them. I went right out and bought my girls some.

Cynthia, I'm glad you found homes for two more puppies! They are so sweet-looking.

I give my girls dried grains all the time. They are totally fine

I have been storing seeds for years, both store bought and ones that I've collected by hand from plants I come across. Tonight I got white yarrow, peppermint, wild bee balm, and daisies. I love plants that can be used for their medicinal or nutritional properties, so I'm really excited to get my garden going this year. Eee!

I love refurbishing so -called trash. I think it's the best way to recycle.

Nice job Ace, what a great idea!

I am so excited....I just ordered some "Crested SBEL's eggs"...a legbar Roo over Leghorn hens. They should come about the same time I can get OE eggs from Sphinx, so I can set them together. Getting excited for my first hatch! The babies are supposed to be barred in either blue or black, or silver barring with gold leakage...with little crests. Sounds cute! Wendy, don't forget about saving me eggs to pick up on the 19th :D I will call you later this week and get a time figured out to stop by when you are around.

I am loving this warmer weather, but my run, even though covered, is a mudhole this morning. Thinking I better get some straw....my eggs were so dirty this morning, even though I just cleaned out the coop and put new shavings down. They are tracking mud everywhere.

Ace, that bag just rocks. I was hoarding a bunch of my empty feed bags for a while to make something out of them, then ended up tossing them because I couldn't figure out what to use them for. Dangit!

I haven't been able to do much gardening in the past couple of years. It's mostly been squash, tomatoes, or other vegetables, but I'm really anxious to get an herb garden going, along with some flowers. This year I want to plant seeds and bulbs from stuff I've collected, which includes irises, columbines, hollyhocks, lavender, cilantro, alfalfa, rock tulips, echinacea, chamomille, and others......I forget what I have. I'd like to get my hands on some feverfew and garlic, as well. I have some onions going, but I may try to get more of those. I love onions and garlic. Aaaand I wouldn't mind some lemon grass, while I'm making a wish list, lol. I took some wheat kernels from the feed I use for my girls and soaked them for a day, then planted them as an experiment. They were already sprouting when I put them in their pot. If I can find any oats, millet, or barley at the bottom of the feed barrel that isn't smashed, I may try planting some of those, as well. Sorry, I'm a garden nut

And I have a mint start from Sphinx. I hope it survives the winter. And I'm getting a dwarf mulberry plant.....

You are giving me the garden bug just listening to you lol. I did get some fun seeds online last fall, all kinds of stuff, now I need to be sure not to procrastinate and really get them in the ground this spring. This seems to be a problem for me as I am getting older. Big plans, small action haha. So I am grateful for your inspiration!
