Utah!

Okay, I am getting frustrated with my chickens. They are finally laying eggs again and I am happy with that but I have a chicken that is eating some of the eggs. I am trying to get to them right after they lay but with my work schedule I don't always get out there. I have put a golf ball in each of the laying boxes to help the issues but they keep empty the nesting and golf balls out of the nesting boxes. I think they are board because they have been so cooped up with all the snow storms we've having. Is there something else I can do to help this issue? I am still new at having chickens. Anything you can tell me about making the winter better for them. Nesting? Coop help? Eating Eggs? Etc. Let me know. Thanks Melissa

I have never had any luck breaking them once they get the taste and have had to rehome them. I have been lucky and found people that want them for pest control first and eggs second. Usually people with lots of horses and cows.

as many of you know i am a plant nut lol. yes i am always planning, thinking of what i want to grow etc. for egg eating sadly i feel its best to figure out what one is doing it and cull her.

I used to have this problem. What I did was broke a hole in the top of the egg just big enough to empty everything out of it. Then I filled it with mustard. Never had a problem since.

And oh, you all stop talking about gardening! It's too early! Can't get the bug yet, can't get the bug yet....

I had two more puppies go to their forever homes tonight. :( Only two more left to go, and they will leave tomorrow. :( :(

This first little pup is one they got a few days ago. She is a cocker spaniel mixed with a poodle. Toooo cute. My goldendoodle's already weigh more than her. They were getting to know each other.

I'm totally going to try this.

Yeah ever since I saw the oat grass growing in your yard, I've wanted to plant some of the grains that I feed my girls. I will be ridiculously excited if this wheat does well.

Oh Cynthia.............you know you want to join the gardening madness, muahaha
