I have never had any luck breaking them once they get the taste and have had to rehome them. I have been lucky and found people that want them for pest control first and eggs second. Usually people with lots of horses and cows.Okay, I am getting frustrated with my chickens. They are finally laying eggs again and I am happy with that but I have a chicken that is eating some of the eggs. I am trying to get to them right after they lay but with my work schedule I don't always get out there. I have put a golf ball in each of the laying boxes to help the issues but they keep empty the nesting and golf balls out of the nesting boxes. I think they are board because they have been so cooped up with all the snow storms we've having. Is there something else I can do to help this issue? I am still new at having chickens. Anything you can tell me about making the winter better for them. Nesting? Coop help? Eating Eggs? Etc. Let me know. Thanks Melissa
I used to have this problem. What I did was broke a hole in the top of the egg just big enough to empty everything out of it. Then I filled it with mustard. Never had a problem since.Okay, I am getting frustrated with my chickens. They are finally laying eggs again and I am happy with that but I have a chicken that is eating some of the eggs.
