Nora is trying to do the same impression.

I checked two of the four eggs she's on last night. Both had gorgeous, healthy veins in them. Yay!

Silly, I think you will have something hatch. Being patient can be hard! Hang in there.

Aww, there is one of the chics..ahem..hens from me. They sure like to go broody! Everyone that got one of these from me have had them go broody, including mine! With the leghorn in there, you would think they wouldn't.

Unrelated to what has been the talk but I have to say if anyone lives in the Ogden area and need feed for a cheaper price than IFA and CAL ranch go to Cache Commodities. I bought a bag of scratch and layer pellets for the price of one bag of layer pellets that I get from IFA or Cal Ranch. Plus, they were very friendly and helped me put my bags in my car. I will no longer be getting feed from IFA or CAL ranch. Great price and it makes it easier to keep my chickens.

Yes she can be a little blonde sometimes, like I said, but she's been a good mother to any chicks she's had. It was either a crow or a magpie that tried to grab one of her babies the last time she was broody, and she full on attacked it and saved her chick. That's my little Chuck Norris

Yes!!! I've been going to Cache ever since Peterson shut down. I love that I'm supporting local business, and it helps that it's cheaper. I also bought my cow grain from them too. Really awesome place. Not at all a retail store, which is a GOOD thing. I guarantee I'll never come home from Cache with an unexpected chick purchase.

Cynthia, did Sundancen get a super blue egger from you? I have one from her that's a lav am/leghborn mix. Sweet girl. She's never gone broody. She looks terribly ragged because she seems to be the rooster's favorite. You'd think with 21 girls, he'd spread the love, but she is most definitely his favorite.

I am getting my show steer feed from cache this year maybe I'll get a barrel full of laying mash too. We have them deliver sometimes though so I don't know what to do.

Soo getting a couple of these. A small one for my little cockeral out there, then one for when he gets bigger! A collar that keeps them from making a huge noise! No surgery. Turn your sound up..
You are going to have to tell me where you get one and how much it is, and if it works. I totally wish I could have a rooster. They are just so handsome.

So we are at day 21 1/2 and still no cracks, pips, or noise. And I haven't seen any movement. So I'm still hoping. My poor 5 year old I think has been checking on them every 2 minutes since she got home from school. She drew all over the calendar a chick hatching out of an egg for today, so she's like they have to hatch today mom, its their birthday. So I pray they hatch. I told her that they might not hatch, and we might have to start over. And she says, that's okay mommy, I want more Fluffy chickens (our silkies), can we hatch those. At least she didn't cry like I thought she was going to if I told her that they might not hatch.

So Gary….Are you selling any Silkie eggs right now? I know someone in Lindon that sells Silkie eggs for hatching, he lives next to a friend, I guess if you don't have any I will have to call my friend to see if she knows if he's still selling them, I think he has a black rooster and 2 white hens, and a brown hen. And I still need an Americana sp? one that lays blue eggs. Anyone? Because I think we might be starting all over next week with eggs, Hopefully we have a better hatch rate if we do. Sad for the little chicks, I really hope they still come out.

Oh my goodness. I was sent 15 BO eggs. Tomorrow they go into lock down..all 15 of them!

And Rhodebars. Was sent 12, 10 are going in lock down with the BO's. These eggs were fertile!
