Utah!

No, she doesn't have silkies but does have some rare & critically endangered breeds. I have silkies too. Two hens were raised by my silver laced wyandotte, so they mix well with my entire flock. One of them went broody and I gave her some eggs to hatch. When they didn't hatch I bought her a couple of day old silkie babies. They are all doing well. They all scratch in the dirt and forage, because that is what the older wyandotte taught. I have a white silkie that I got in January - she is always pristine white. She doesn't get her feet dirty. She's 4 months now.

The beginning of my coop sign. It is being named "Roo Moon"

it's just sketched in, so that I can either burn the lines, or paint it :)

I live in Salt Lake and will definitely be going to Duchesne, Utah soon for more chicks. I have sold most of my mail-order-hatchery chicks in order to make room for more of Christina's chicks (Desert Springs). I can not emphasize loudly enough to say that the quality of her chicks far outweigh any of the other chicks I have ever gotten from other hatcheries and/or breeders. When the chicks are side by side it is obvious which chicks came from Christina. I will be more than happy to transport chicks back to Salt Lake when I go if anyone wants me to bring them some. Duchesne is only a 2 hour drive up and 2 hours back, but it gets shorter every time I drive it. LOL I have not lost a single Desert Springs chick. They have all been healthy and strong. Quality is quality and is apparent in any breed and any species. You can just recognize it when you see it.

I'm in the SLC area also let me know if you want some company on your drive

Speaking of missing eggs! I found this behind a rose bush last weekend. Then i noticed this week i was only get 1 green egg a day sometimes 0. So i went egg hunting and found a new nest in some vines on the other side of the house. I have clipped all 3 OE's wings but it isn't helping. They are still flying up to the top of the four foot fence that keeps them in the back yard. One of them i clipped both her wings and an hour later she was back in front looking for the clutch of eggs that i gathered.

Bitsyhorse, I love the sign!

Ok I feel like I'm losing my mind. I have eggs disappearing . Lots .. I counted 5 in one box at noon at 4 there all gone . Can chickens move eggs from boxes that they would have to jump to get out?

Sounds like something is eating your eggs. It could be the chickens or a predator like a raven or magpie.
