All these splash silkie pics have me wondering about my little fluffy, favorite splash




...there is definitely a comb but it's not super wide and there's no sign of waddles yet... I've been telling myself boy because I'd rather end up with a happy surprise than disappointment. Don't tell anyone...but secretly...I would love it if he's a she!

Wow she's changed alot, she's very beautiful! Love the colors, and how fluffy she's getting. Guessing by her tail & crest shaping, and the size of her comb I am feeling confident she's a girl

Karen keep an eye on that lighter colored one it will be really pretty. I have one that looks like your blue with the dark blue stripe, curious to how it will mature out.

its out of the brown egg. What do you think the brown eggs where from? The black one that looks like a Silkie, only one with fully feathered legs and toes (blue egg) All have black skin, not sure on the toes. The lighter brown chipmunk also came from the blue egg. The light one I hope is a girl, I love that fuzzy butt already (brown egg) as well as the other dark brown one with the white on the face brown egg.

. Did you hear from Gary? I'm beginning to wonder if for some reason I'm not getting my PMs... It doesn't even show that I've sent messages I know I've sent. Has anyone else had this problem?

Oh yes, but I was just worried that you weren't interested in his other chicks anymore and I couldn't let you drive down there just to pick up my chick. I would feel awful about that I sometimes have problems receiving calls. Someone will say they called me three times and my phone will be right in my pocket and not a missed call listed. Are you with Verizon? That is who I have. I don't love them but no other company has service where I live so I am stuck with them

My phone coverage is great! It's just the PMs on here that I was having issues with. I just reset all of my settings so hopefully that will help

I'm also going North from Utah County on Saturday, I can take the chick as far as Ogden, but it would need to be picked up right away since I'm shooting a wedding. Also can anyone possibly work with Lisa on getting me some Maran eggs down to Ogden for my poor Silkie that has been sitting for 2 weeks. Hopefully she will take eggs.

Sweet! I will be at the Timbermine taking photo's at my sister inlaw's wedding, and I just wanted to get about 6 or so Maran eggs from her for my poor Broody Silkie. Lets see if we can work it out. That would be awesome!

Speaking of dumb silkie moms, I went out to check on my broodies...two have blood all over their face and appear to have eaten the babies and eggs. One bloody eggshell, they were fighting over it, 4 eggs and chicks, gone. I know I saw one chick last night, and two more pipped. I am super wary of trying this again.....:/

Oh no! The chicks were hatched? Lisa I am so sorry!
I know it happens sometimes, but why will momma hens eat their babies?
Have any of them hatched chicks before?
