I just taught my first Backyard Chicken Farming class and it was a great success! Taught it at my home here in Draper. I've gotten requests for more classes and I'm willing to teach more if there is a demand.

I also have about 40 chicks that my children are selling as a homeschool entrepreneurial project. Barred Rock, Lt. Brown Leghorn, and Rhode Island Red. Also have Buff Orp. and Araucana coming in June.

If anyone is interested in more info on classes, let me know. We had people here from Provo, Riverton, South Jordan, White City, and Orem.

I have also compiled a list of city ordinances regarding chickens. I have almost every city within Salt Lake County, plus the county itself, and Provo. If anyone wants a copy, you can PM me.

Thanks!

HELP

Someone 2 doors down just foreclosed on their home. They left everything behind including a flock of chickens. The chickens are in poor condition due to the owner having too many roo's. I am going to try to adopt out the chickens pending one last attempt to contact the previous owners. I will post pictures and attempt to tell you the breeds (pictures coming this afternoon) The birds are all FREE but you will need to meet me in Beaver, Minersville or Milford.

Banty Size

2 White Silkies
1 very small silky the size of a dove w/ lacing
2 Black Silkies
1 Black silkie Roo
1 Buff Brahma
1 Buff Brahma roo
1 Silver Spangled Hamburg Roo
1 mixed banty roo
1 very small banty possible silky and EE mix

Please let me know if you know how to help. One chicken already died trying to find food and I personally witnessed a second getting out and almost getting killed by a dog. Are there laws about keeping animals fed and watered? I know this person loved her chickens but with the heat you can't just not provide water?
