When mine go broody I just let them be, I quit trying to break them... with all these silkies it is too big of a hassle. They just quit when they are ready, they get skinny and pale but when they have had enough they jump off and start eating again. I have never had one get sick or die from being broody, which actually surprises me because they really don't get much food or water, they are stubborn. But they seem to know when enough is enough.
I have some of Brandi's little eggs in there, they will be a silkie/frizzle mix, or silkie. Plus I have some from another neighbor. And, some from
Now, I have some that were set on time too. Going to have a lot of babies, because I have a lot of pips just in this first hatch. :/ Will be giving babies away soon if anyone is interested in either really good egg layers, or cute little frizzles. I will be keeping some, but I can't keep them all.
Good grief, nothing says Merry Christmas like that, eh?
