Amen to that. I have raised several sets of brooder chicks and two sets of broody chicks. The brooder chicks are much sweeter and friendly.It seems like the chicks I have raised longer in my garage brooders are sweeter...the earlier they go outside the less they interact with the humans and they become less friendly. The longer they are being babied the more they seem to like the people. Just something I have noticed. Along with more chicken dust and bad smells in the garage.....I don't know if it is worth it haha![]()
I think those first few days are pivotal in chick to human relationships. You have probably heard of imprinting where an animal sees another animal or human as its mother/leader. If you can baby the chicks and spend time with them at the beginning, you'll probably have a higher chance of them being friendly as they get older. Just my three cents
