Utah!

there aren't any feathering on the legs but the legs aren't Yellow either. his legs are a tan color. This is my first year with a rooster so I'm still learning quite a bit. you guys make it so much easier lol:) lisa my rooster bred the white NN with the boots that cynthia had:) I can't wait to see what I can hatch. I've got 2 broodys that are sitting on a few eggs so I will know here soon enough:)

That NN from Cynthia is a non-frizzled frizzle---would It still carry the frizzle gene? Would be cool to get a frizzle from her but not sure how that works. I have always wondered about that because last year one of my non-frizzled silkies froma silkie parent laid a sort of unique long skinny egg and a frizzled baby hatched from that egg...so never was 100 percent positive if her mama carried the frizzle gene or if I somehow was mistaken and that egg came from somebody else and just looked long and skinny that one time...? Your NN is actually an EE lol from Sundance's Frizzled EE Hercules and her white turken, I got hatching eggs from her last year. I have the sibling, and mine is frizzled....keep trying to hatch her eggs but they are never fertile.

This is her when she was about 4 months old :D Her black spot has fallen off now though! She molted and it never came back lol. She is a lot curlier too now, they look kind of flat in this pic.

so uh i went to ifa today and came home with chicks lol. me and my mother went and while i was fine waiting my mother decided they were too cute to pass up. so i ended up with 2 barred rocks, 2 buff bramahs and a austrlorp. not exactly the breeds i was after but well you know how it is. these are my first chicks as all my others were a little older when i got them. so remind me is it ok to feed them medicated feed? and if so how long? did not read the tag closely.

Congrats on the Babies Brad! I feed medicated the first week or two, then switch to unmedicated as it is hard on the gut... have gotten bloody stools and things like that if staying on it too long. Just my opinion :D

thank you. i cant believe i did not read the tag closely. i normally look closely at tags as i am careful what i feed them. i will watch and make sure its not too hard on them.

Oh wow I didn't know that her father is Hercules:) that makes this even more exciting haha. I've seen her get bred by my rooster so I'm crossing my fingers that some of her eggs hatch. I can't wait until my salmon faverolle rooster is of breeding age. Chickens with beards are my favorite.
That picture sure is cute! What rooster have you tried to breed her to?

Brad, congrats..you actually got some chicks! I only medicate them for 4 days, then that's that. Like Lisa said, mess with their tummy. They get diarrhea pretty quick with it much longer.

yeah its kinda shocking that i got chicks. seems like most here get chicks a lot more often than me. kinda impulsive i know. but they will be fun. thank you all for the opinions on medicated feed. nice having people you trust to answer questions. i know what you mean about birds having a upset tummy due to meds, have had that with a parrot and it was not fun

She is just in with the Blue Copper Marans Roo. :D Noluck getting fertile eggs so far. She lays a blue egg so the babies would be olive eggers. Possibly frizzled--possibly turken... LOL
