Brian, with those barrs..my guess is yes, good chance of having a NN that is barred.
So I'm curious what kind of chicks I will get. I saw my barred rock rooster mate with my naked neck I think their babies will be cute. Any chances I will get a barred NN?
I'm in Logan and have some fertile eggs. More than happy to help.Hey all! I need a little help from my chicken friends!
My 9 yr old was overflowing with excitement when he got home from school yesterday![]()
His class had read a story about a class that had hatched eggs in their classroom.... Que the lightbulb moment! According to his teacher he asked to stand in front of the class and make an announcement. He announced that after spring break he would be bringing in an incubator so that they too could hatch their very own little baby chicks! Instant classroom hero!
I might be tempted to be frustrated that he didn't ask first...but he is the best kid any mom could ever ask for. Really!! Its totally the truth! Plus, I am totally 1000% on board with the idea! My very best school memory is hatching chicks in kindergarten! My hal chicks will be here by then and the incubator will be free. My only problem is that I'm having a really hard time finding fertile eggs!
So here's where I ask if anyone has any hatching eggs available. I don't even care which breeds. I think bantams would be fun, but it doesn't really matter to me. I only need 6-8 and I'm more than willing to pay for them and drive wherever I need to go...well...within reason. You would make 28 little hearts explode with happiness!
Ok. I'm done now. Thank you!
I will have to do that haha. I'm really thinking my rooster is a cuckoo marans because he looks more like them then the barred rock. The people I got him from only had 1 cuckoo marans rooster and some marans hens and barred rock hens. I guess we will see what color of eggs his offspring lays![]()

I'm just a little ways up South Fork. We've lived here for 15 years now and love our little piece of heaven! Is Camp Atoka the one by Causey? It's so pretty up there too!
there aren't any feathering on the legs but the legs aren't Yellow either. his legs are a tan color. This is my first year with a rooster so I'm still learning quite a bit. you guys make it so much easier lolIf it has any leg or feet feathering at all it would be a cuckoo marans for sure.![]()
