Utah!

Hey all! I need a little help from my chicken friends!

My 9 yr old was overflowing with excitement when he got home from school yesterday

His class had read a story about a class that had hatched eggs in their classroom.... Que the lightbulb moment! According to his teacher he asked to stand in front of the class and make an announcement. He announced that after spring break he would be bringing in an incubator so that they too could hatch their very own little baby chicks! Instant classroom hero!

I might be tempted to be frustrated that he didn't ask first...but he is the best kid any mom could ever ask for. Really!! Its totally the truth! Plus, I am totally 1000% on board with the idea! My very best school memory is hatching chicks in kindergarten! My hal chicks will be here by then and the incubator will be free. My only problem is that I'm having a really hard time finding fertile eggs!

So here's where I ask if anyone has any hatching eggs available. I don't even care which breeds. I think bantams would be fun, but it doesn't really matter to me. I only need 6-8 and I'm more than willing to pay for them and drive wherever I need to go...well...within reason. You would make 28 little hearts explode with happiness!

Ok. I'm done now. Thank you!

I wish I could help! I am struggling to get fertilized eggs from my own flock! They keep going broody or my boy is not cooperating lol. You may ask themadchicken. I know he's mentioned having lots of fertile eggs in the past.

If you want to try I have a randy naked neck rooster and several different breeds of hens so the little babies are cute but they'd be mixed breeds and maybe not pretty.

Quote: Amanda, there are oodles of folks out here with roos in with their girls. I could get you as many as you like and bring them as far as Logan. I don't think any would be banty though. Just mixed mutts. On the up side, they would be totally free :).

I have a couple I think 5 black breasted red old english game bantam eggs. I can ship them to you my only concern is the fertility may not be super great. I have only tried one test batch of 3 eggs and only one hatched. But he's been with the girls much longer now so you may have better luck. I'll pay shipping so those little kids can try to hatch them if you want to give them a go let me know I'll ship them tomorrow.

hey I have got some fertile eggs if you would like some. They are barn yard mixes but some will be pure barred rock. My rooster is a beautiful barred rock. I saw him breed with my NN so I will have some cuties hatching. I won't charge anything for the eggs:)

So I'm curious what kind of chicks I will get. I saw my barred rock rooster mate with my naked neck I think their babies will be cute. Any chances I will get a barred NN?
