Utah!

You can't be real sure if your thermometer is working spot on anyway. Do your eggs feel right to you? Most times I go by how they feel. Too warm? Not warm enough? The thermometer does give me an idea when I see where it's at when I am happy with how they feel. I then watch to see if it's reading at that point from there on. Make sense?
I'm no expert, but I used a temp gun on my first hatch last month and it saved my eggs. I found out that both my thermometers were off by about 2 degrees. It was a big help.

Hi all - Can I ask a favor of my fellow gardeners? If you happen to run across any orange mint starts in your travels, would you ease let me know where you saw them? I'm hunting for one to put in my mint bed. Sanks :)

lowes and home depot normally have them.

I need one! Just because I like the way "temp gun" sounds. Boo-yah!
lowes has a good temp gun for around $20, its very accurate and very handy to have

Sounds like you are doing just fine. You have the humidity right around where I have it. During incubation, I don't worry so much about the humidity, I just keep one well filled. Not sure what bator you are using, but if it's a still air, then your temps sound fine. You can't be real sure if your thermometer is working spot on anyway. Do your eggs feel right to you? Lock down. If you can't get it up over 50%..and putting sponges in causes condensation on the windows..that's too much. Again, is the reading right? Fill all of the wells. That's usually pretty good. I have some due to hatch on the 22nd..when are yours due? Sounds like we are close together here. :)
mine are going on lockdown on the 17th (I put them in april 29th after 5 pm... so I started counting the days from the 30th) they should all hatch by the 20th... hopefully

my incubator is the little giant styrofoam still air incubator with an egg turner. I have just been filling up I think the middle basin (the square) instead of the 2 on the sides.... The eggs feel good... I have 2 types of thermometers in there, one that is a cheap $1 one that I got from Walmart that lays flat, I have that on the top of the egg turner, but not the eggs, and it reads really close to what my main thermometer reads (digital Hygrometer/Thermometer)... I figure the difference is just the height that I have them.

Thanks for the input Cynthia :) really appreciate it!

Is anyone interested in this 8 week Blue langshan? I should warn you that he's a lap bird and he'll try to sneak your wine if you're not looking.
Unfortunately I can't have roosters but I am dying to get my hands on a blue langhsan pullet or hen. You don't by chance know anybody do you?

So if anyone is wondering what a blue orpington crossed on a sicillian buttercup looks loke' here she is. She looks blue with gold lacing. She is so super sweet
