Utah!

Did you see the update above about the Marans boy you sent my way? He's doing great. He still gets picked on by the ladies, but I'm guessing that will change in about another month. ;)

He is turning out really nice!
Hope he gets more assertive, but not too much! haha!

Anybody else want a Marans boy? From my own stock this time...Oh boy I am overrun with growout males. Put the whole shooting match on KSL today. I have a splash, lots of black, and possibly a blue or two. An OE roo also that is blue with a peacomb and crazy feathered shanks.

Headed to see Sundance on 6/24 to pick up a chicken from Red. I can bring free boys with me if anyone needs another! Also I may have extra showgirl.silkie /frizzle eggs by then, I've been selling for $30/dozen but with loads of extras. Awesome fertility, rarely any clears in the batches for the last two months.

I can bring back to Logan any seramas from Diana if anybody up here wants to buy them. Or transport any other goodies one way or the other :D :D

I think he is going to be gorgeous! Has a sweet face. Hope when things turn around, and he's after the ladies..that he is sweet to them. :)
Thanks!

My incubator is cranking away on a batch of barred EEs or I would be in for some frizzles.

My EE boy is 4 months old and finally stated to crow this morning. Wish I hadn't kept putting off getting that rooster collar now! Is there any place that ships them quickly?

hey cynthia how have you been feeling?

Doing better Brad, thank you! Throat still gets tight every now and again, but it's ok. Not nearly as bad.

Get any new chickens lately? I know you were looking for a certain breed to add. Find one? Or two? :p

FREE - I have 2 Purebred English Chocolate Orpington Roos that I need to rehome ASAP. FREE to good homes! They are large bantams, so about 5 lb birds. One is 7 months, the other is 8 months old. Gorgeous birds, but because I have too few hens the roosters are starting to fight, and the ladies are becoming over-bred. I'm located in Cache Valley.

Here are some pics of one of the Roos with 2 black Hens, for color comparison:

And this is a photo of their dad at 1.5 yrs old. They will lighten up in color, too, as they get older.

Wish I could. These guys are beautiful!!

So... I couldn't help myself and got three Ameraucana chicks from Desert Springs (two wheaten and a blue wheaten?). We've had them in quarantine a week now and so far no problems... Except someone looks suspiciously like a rooster. They were straight run so, I expected as much considering my luck with roosters. Anyway, here are the babies.
Out for some playtime in the dog pen, gobbling up dirt. I brought in the dog we're trying to train not to chase them. He was pretty good but he definitely needs some work. He got put back when he pounced at them. He didn't understand why I was angry, but confusion is his general state of mind.

The suspected roo, in the pictures above he's the larger blue one.

Here's everybody else in their own brooder. Chillin' after I cleaned it out. They were all lying down until they saw me and everyone had to stand up to see what was going on. Now I'm pretty sure my tiny chick is a rooster and he's got to go. I love him to pieces but I don't know what else I can do. Why do you have to be a roo?!

Edit: I suppose I could try to keep him for a while as a house rooster or get him a crow collar. He such a sweet little guy.

I would love to see updates on everyone else's broods!
