Utah!

A friend of mine did Rangers earlier this yr but didn't care for them. Can't remember why. No she has Bresse. I think that's the breed. It's also self sustaining. Sweet, mellow, quiet birds. She's really liking them so far.

wow red that is not something you normally see! but i guess not many keep them around for as long as you have lol. very cool tho. and yeah i have heard they get as big as turkeys if you let them. good eating

have you thought about red rangers? i guess those can be self sustaining but they take longer to grow and do not have as big as breasts but that can be good too depending on what you are after

We are looking for a local source for red rangers. Do you folks know where we could get them?

Thanks birdman!

We haven't tried red rangers, but I did turn down an offer earlier for some Bielefelder eggs. We just don't have the setup for them right now. They're still on the list of possibilities, though.

Hello everyone, it appears one of my silkies has wry neck. I discovered it last night. Her neck was tucked completely under her body and she wasn't walking. I brought her inside and gave her some water through a syringe (I didn't force it, i just made little droplets come out to avoid aspiration), and I massaged her neck. I offered food, but she didn't take it. After about an hour she started walking around and her neck is still curved, but it's more "swan like" now instead of completely tucked under. I'm wondering what measurements of the vitamin e I should give her and what other things any of you have done that had helped. I checked on her this morning and she was walking around again and doesn't seem as miserable, but I want to try to correct it. She's my favorite little Silkie. I know there is another section I could post this, but I trust all of your judgement.

Hello all, I'm new here. I just got my first four chicks in March, and my buff orpington turned out to be a rooster. He's my most friendly chicken, but, of course, I can't keep him. If anyone out there wants this sweet 4 month old rooster, I'd love to hear from you! I've been trying to find him a home, this is my last resort before he goes into the cooking pot. Thanks!
