Utah!

I think that might be it. She is soaking in warm water in the sink, i can feel what seems like an egg---her pelvic bones have separated enough and there is a bulky feel to her behind, and she seems to be straining slightly. She is an extremely quiet little thing, she seems to like the warm water, at least she is happier at the moment :)

Well--she is out, and I had the blowdryer on her on really low to dry her top, she really does seem to be straining. I think i misread her heavy breathing/heaving for straining. I am glad you guys are helping me on this :) So what i found said to soak her in warm water for 20 min and she should lay after that. Some poop did come out in the warm water, not much but a little so that must help relax them or something...but she seems really content that I am caring for her, she has not fought any of it, so it must be helping a little .

i have heard people rubbing some cooking oil in that area to help the egg slip out. i would give her vitamins. i am so happy you caught on to what it is. with egg bound birds is common for them to die. i am not sure but would breaking the egg work? i am not sure on that so you will have to do some research. good luck and keep us updated

Birdman what kind of vitamins would you give? She is not straining nearly hard enough to do the job. She keeps closing her eyes like she wants to sleep. I read about the oil--some said yay some said nay....so I thought I would try the bath first. And then I read that you have to be careful not to break the egg, the pieces of shell wont come out proper...just the stuff I found though, things like this there are always so many opinions. If anybody on here has ever dealt with this successfully please ring in and tell me how you did it..... I am wondering if she has a double yolker in there though and it is just not going to make it out. It feels really big back there, and she is a little tiny thing. Will let you guys know how it works out.

well with my work with exotic birds they say to give calcium and lots of it. but other vitamins would be good too i think. i have not dealt with it first hand so this is all from memory and 2nd hand experience. but i think the oil can not hurt much but i could be wrong. i will research a little

Ok so I did the dropper of olive oil in the vent thing. Ew. I sure hope this works :fl Also read to give Vit E by beak so I did that....I feel like I am gonna make my poor girl worse, but at this point I think I better try everything.

i read you can give them baby aspirin on a thread on here, they say it will cut down on the swelling so it will help the egg come out. i would keep letting her soak too because that is a major thing people say works. can you give her some yogurt or something? it will get her to eat and the calcium would help
