It's all wet, but I do believe this is a crele roo. Oops, I kept calling it a "she" earlier.
The cord isn't attached to the shell, and doesn't look like it will be too long before it falls off the chick. He's chirping up a storm!

Yay! SashaT 1st one out. I can't remember how many you are hatching. Keep the pictures coming.

Lisa tell everyone in Idaho Falls hi for me. Hahaha That is where I was born and grew up. I was really going to try and make it so I could bring these little silkies to my sister but I'll have to do it another time. I'm sad I won't be able to go to chickenstock or see my family. Sigh. It is about a 9 1/2 hour drive for me. So have lots of fun. I hope your chicks wait until you get home to hatch.

Oh I forgot I'm hoping in the morning I will have 2 more chicks. They have pipped and are chirping under the broody hens I have so I'm crossing my fingers this works out. I'm a little worried because my 4 week old chick is still wanting to sleep under her broody mom.

We will see what tomorrow brings.

He really is teeny! Oh, so cute! His cord came off, so that's good. I sure hope all the rest of the babies pip and hatch tomorrow, but I know that's probably a long shot. Would it be too much to ask for even a few?
I almost hate to leave for Chickenstock tomorrow, with potentially hatching eggs here, and it's the Kentucky Derby! I haven't missed one for as long as I can remember...my DH is floored that I'll have to record it this year. Are any of you horse people? Anyone have a favorite? I haven't really done much research this year, but I do like "Bodemeister" and "Union Rags".

Good Luck! I would go crazy using a broody to hatch....little miss control meister here....I would be out there staring at her! I am going to miss being on here tomorrow.....I am from I.F. too, so hoping to see a little family there.
