Utah!

Cynthia---I wanted to tape her feet yesterday but two things are stopping me....my DH was gone and I need somebody to hold her. And I have a question----do i just use the tape alone or do I need some sort of splint? I am not sure what I am doing. If you would post how you did yours that would be great! I am confused

I'm the one that uses electrical tape. I find it stays on really well..better than band aids, and then, it's easy to get off..go figure?

I would just try and straighten them the best you can, tape them as straight as you can. That's the best you can do. For how long on a chick that old? Not sure, haven't had one that age to tape..may Speckled can answer that question.

Ok, Got a few pics...It is now out in the run with the Old English chicks and seems to be getting along nicely and so is the little Lavender one.

Ok, catching up some more on this thread before I run errands. Sasha, I really like those pale green eggs. They're so pretty! The first time I ever saw them was when we had a gimpy hen at my work that would lay them, so it brings back good memories.

Blu, is this the girl with the curled toes? Her feet almost look normal when she's standing still. Be sure and let us know what kind of progress she makes with therapy, k?

Cynthia, you're getting Icee eggs?

The madness is spreading! I'm getting psyched about meeting Sasha today to pick up my babies. Ohhhhh fun!

And now m'dears, I must go pick up my car from the shop and check on my broody Marans. If I figured out her schedule correctly, she should have started hatching babies around now.......

No, This is the one that really acts like a Rooster. No Crowing, but I will be really surprised if it is a hen....It is a Beautiful Bird though.

What would it be if it was bred to this one though?

What do you think?

Fonzie has got to be the most ill tempered obnoxious LOUD rooster I have ever seen!!!    Just kidding... he's been great and seems to be getting along great with everyone.. just thought I'd try and make you feel a little better... :)  LOL  Next time you come up you'll have to come visit him, the baby goats and see the barn!!

Deal. I would love to see him as a big boy! if I had to guess, I would think he would be very well behaved. He may be a little out of his element and missing his girl for a bit though, she is being a real stinker without him here.

That 'thing' is absolutely stunning. I really love the whole look, it looks even prettier now in these pics. I did not realize how huge those muffs were, they are so puffy and awesome! Now that I am looking....the bum does look boyish too. Dang it. I am still hoping! If you crossed those two it would be some awfully cute chicks. You should try it just to see, you could always sell them for a few bucks. Is she an EE or a true Am? I was thinking she had the slate legs....I tell you what if that 'boy' does turn out to be a boy and pretty sweet and not too noisy I would buy it back in a heartbeat. I would love to find one that was just super mellow so I would not sweat the whole neighbor thing too much. We have a big yard, and I have met roos elsewhere that are just low key. That is what I need! So if you come across a sweet boy let me know :) I really want one so bad, if I could just find a quieter one....

It is an Americana...So far the 2 new ones are doing great with the Monster's Old English. So hopefully they can stay together for a bit.

The Monster! Psshhht......sweet little thing. Glad you have groups that are working together. " Integration kinda sucks, yes?"

My new girls are getting harassed quite a bit today. No hurting, just chasing. I am worried about the slow one with the toes curled....so far she is holding her own. The other one is very protective thank goodness and seems to help her fight her battles a little. Hope that does not mean it is a boy, the nose is more pink on that one, but I think it is a girl still. HenRee would have had them plucked and ready for the pot in one day lol so I am glad it is not the group that was in there a few months ago. The newer ones are a bit kinder....I keep throwing new ones in, they seem to be getting more used to the changing faces out there. They better be if they are going to be in my flock haha!

Mine were pretty good until I got rid of that Blue Rooster...He kept everyone in line. I was glad to have that Other pen and run for the young ones, That was a great way for them to get used to each other. But it is full at the moment with the ones I am putting up for sale. Maybe they will sell quickly. Snape is going up, just a heads up. I have way too many SLW out there.

I would likely sell that one too....well I did ha ha.....just because she looks so raunchy with no butt lol. She never layed super great here either....maybe 3-4 week tops, sometimes 2-3. She still lay about the same? You have lots prettier ones out there. I may re-home the blue girls about fall.....when my others start....same thing, they are not laying super well, one lays little ones about 4 a week, but smaller.....then the other maybe 1 a week but bigger eggs. If I could combine the two it would be great! The bigger one seems to pace all day and want to lay ----stalks the nests all day, bothers the others when they are in the box, but wont stay in the box for more than a minute at a time. Makes some noise while she is at it like she is stressing about needing to lay. Maybe the new home threw her off :) She is making me a little crazy. I thought she would stop eventually but not so far. I think Wyandottes are gorgeous but so far for me the laying seems to be so so. Most of my other girls are laying at least 5/week right now---most 6, some 7. If they lay that often and the eggs are good sized, they are keepers for me. HenRee would have been a lifer had she not been mean! Her egg laying is amazing!
