I know the wyandottes are not the most consistent layers. I have to admit I didn't know much about them before I got them, but they are pretty. I may have to do some more rearranging, There are so many different colors and egg colors...Jessi was so excited after seeing those blue eggs the other day. She really wants to find some of those in her nest box. Guess I should decide for sure what I want. LOLI would likely sell that one too....well I did ha ha.....just because she looks so raunchy with no butt lol. She never layed super great here either....maybe 3-4 week tops, sometimes 2-3. She still lay about the same? You have lots prettier ones out there. I may re-home the blue girls about fall.....when my others start....same thing, they are not laying super well, one lays little ones about 4 a week, but smaller.....then the other maybe 1 a week but bigger eggs. If I could combine the two it would be great! The bigger one seems to pace all day and want to lay ----stalks the nests all day, bothers the others when they are in the box, but wont stay in the box for more than a minute at a time. Makes some noise while she is at it like she is stressing about needing to lay. Maybe the new home threw her offShe is making me a little crazy. I thought she would stop eventually but not so far. I think Wyandottes are gorgeous but so far for me the laying seems to be so so. Most of my other girls are laying at least 5/week right now---most 6, some 7. If they lay that often and the eggs are good sized, they are keepers for me. HenRee would have been a lifer had she not been mean! Her egg laying is amazing!![]()
