Utah!

Question about nipple watering systems. I know Donna uses them. Anyone else? Love them or hate them? Where did you get them? I'm thinking of converting.

once you go to nipples you will never go back! i got mine from a guy in west jordan, a 5 gal bucket with lid and 4 nipples for $15. i guess ifa may have the nipples now, i know they have the ones already installed in the buckets but they were not cheap at all. i just fill mine with the hose and its so easy and it stays so clean. my girls learned to use them in seconds, all i did was show them. you can also get a drop in deicer for the winter. the water stays clean and my girls like them a lot better

My eggs came!   :th I have never seen such beautiful Welsummer eggs!  I have had two Welsummers in my past..they never laid eggs like this..speckled yes, big yes, but never had them this dark!  Just beautiful.  I put her card and picture of their place on the carton so you could see where they came from.  I hope these hatch!   I know it's going to be hard to see in them after a while, so will be candling early on, around day 5 and/or 6.

 Speckled beauties.

Thanks again for the kind words. I'm so glad you liked the eggs. I love the variety they lay and the speckled eggs are my favorites.

My basket (sans sign, I am not done yet) you can see it was red at one time from looking at the bottom....so cute! And huge! Just what I am going to need come Fall!

I have one like that and it will hold a lot of heavy eggs. I also use it in my garden when digging potatoes and/or carrying in heavy produce. Many uses for those antique egg baskets.

this morning I came home from work (day 20) and heard peeping!! I got to watch my first chick ever struggle out of its shell!! Its a beautiful silver and yellow chick from eggs that I bought from Huckleberry Farms, shipped from SC that got delayed in the mail. WOW!!

And this afternoon a black chick followed.

And I have 11 more pipping (mostly from my own EE's - blue Ameraucana roo over mixed flock)!!

Yay! I'm excited for you!

Sphinx I can't wait to see the eggs you have in the incubator. I love the olive egg! I started my bantam WC Polish on the the 4 th. Seven of the 8 are fertile so we will see how it goes.

My sister won some Silkie Ameraucana eggs from chicken stock. Has anyone seen that breed before? Or have any? Just wondering what your thoughts on them were?

Cynthia I love those eggs! I really have to stop after this hatching this is my third and I keep seeing more that I want hatch. I'm excited for you to get your new incubator. Now I can just live vicariously though you and your hatching. :D

You are welcome! Glad you could stop by our fun thread. I have a feeling you just may be getting some orders from some folks..by chance, do you have more pictures of your Marans? I think I said blue Marans in my pm to you, but it's just the way the picture showed them. I guess I can just tell everyone here, to go check out her profile pictures..those marans are beautiful.

I looked at her Marans pics yesterday :drool---FBCM I believe, absolutely stunning. If mine do not work out from Idaho (I think I have it worked out! yay!) It is good to see a second source with beautiful girls (and boys!) AND if I ever get Welsummer eggs this is the place! What a beautiful farm :love
