Utah!

LOL :)  You're talking me into it, Wendy.  I'll sleep on it tonight and let you know tomorrow for sure.  He's definitely a cutie!  How old is he?  Would he, bred with my two wyandottes, produce an olive egger?  :love  Or maybe a green layer?

I'm totally cracking up over all the brilliant math figures!

Sasha---

You would have an EE
tan egger + blue egger = green egger, light
dark brown (marans or welsummer) egger + blue egger = olive egger
olive egger (F1) + dark brown again = really dark olive egger (F2)

Usually. Or they sometimes tease ya and lay the same as just one of the parents :)

Sundance, waiting anxiously for pics of the sizzles! Excited to see how cute they are :)

My Egg that had "already started" to develop in my shipped eggs started weeping stinky juice yesterday :( So I am thinking I better candle tonight and see if they are moving along ok :/

Sundance, Yay!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!!!

Sasha, I ended up rehoming him on KSL last night. The guy seemed really awesome, and I'm a little surprised he's not on here. He has a lot of chickens, but is thinking about getting into the lavender ameraucana business. He's keeping him, not eating him (yay!), and even told me to keep his number in case I wanted to borrow him back for my lavender girls.

Lisa, sorry about the weeping egg. Have you candled everything else yet?

I have not candled them yet....waiting for my son to wake up so he can see :) He slept in his playhouse last night so he is sleeping a little later today. He was up watching 3 stooges movies from the library til midnight. We could hear him laughing up at the house :) He loves those movies, I personally do not get it!

congrats on finding a good home for your boy! Sounds like a good place, and maybe a good connection for later :)

OMG

Those are so cute! What a fun hatch!! Love the second super fluffy sizzle especially. And those cute little Araucanas, little puffy cheeks! They look double tufted even! Are they rumpless can you tell?

Looove the sizzles! I can't wait to see what they turn out like. I'm so happy for you Sundance

I hope the others will be ok.
I put mine into lockdown tonight! Candled them last night and all 9 are looking good to go.
So I decided it isn't the carpet my chickens don't like it is the heat in the coop. (there is a fan) They have been laying in the dirt under the nesting boxes behind some bushes where it is cool. I don't blame them but it stains my eggs brown.

I'm thinking of putting pine shavings there. Don't know really what to do. I guess I will have to start washing my eggs.
