Utah!

sundancenbare: I would love to introduce you to my flock. We will have to plan something in the near future. I have a few trips I have to get out of the way before school starts so I will be popping in and out until the end of August.

Oh my the silkie does look like a boy......the Golden Sex Link looks like it might be ok, after seeing this I would not do anything with it just yet, they do get a bit bigger wattles and combs and it is harder to tell on those until they are just a little older. That one looks iffy but I would not rule it out yet, it may still be a girl :)

Wow, such help you guys are! I went out for my chicken time a bit ago and tried looking at them a bit more. I am afraid that one of the silkies is probably a roo. Such a sad day! I have a black, two golden, and one white silkie and this one looks way different than the others. My friend, Gus, came by to help rustle them up so I could get a closer picture:

This is another one I am a bit concerned about:

I sure hope this one is not a roo. It is one of my favourites!
Yes, that top buff Silkie looks like a boy...here is a picture of my blue splash...no comb yet started like that...and yes, I think your last picture looks like a girl. :))

Ok, I bought one from Cal Ranch. yepper doodles..did it. It was a little one that wasn't making it too well in with allll those birds they just got in...more chicks! Too many, they are so crowed!
I have to get pictures of the little one, it has the cutest face.

And, my poor little showgirl, she has 5 toes on one foot, and 4 toes on the other foot. They were still curled when she was trying to stand, so I went to put boots on her, and discovered the difference. Hope it doesn't bother her in walking. I can tell she's going to need those boots for a while. Should work pretty good though. She's pretty strong today! :)

What kind did you get! :ya I think I might do it this weekend......argh! two of my ameraucanas look like they will be boys now. A couple of the older ones, gray and black.....getting really stringy pointy saddle feathers.

Sorry to hear about your babies' toes! Is that common? I sure hope it can get around ok. If anybody can help her out it will be nurse Cynthia. ;)

Sundancen, YAAAY! You're home!

Lisa, might I request pictures of these mystery Amer's? Particularly their back half? (you know me.........)

Cynthia, haha you should name that Showgirl Nina (pronounced NINE-uh)

wgidir, that RSL still looks like a girl to me

The first picture on this thread is a RSL roo: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/233991/who-wants-to-test-my-shipping-skills

But yes, the Silkie does look like a boy. Sorry!

(Psst. Lisa. You shouldn't go to Cal Ranch. Get a couple of Sundancen's pullets. You know you want to)

Red, I will get some pics after this heat, ugh! Remember the tiny tot blue one? Stinker is red and the comb is three giant rows, and black spikes just starting. Pretty pessimistic about my odds now haha! I named her after my grandma. Her comb has always been so black.gray I never could see any color to it, but upon looking very close today I am seeing maroon under there....especially around the ears and eyes and jaws. She has always had pretty long legs and looked awkward.....SIGH.....we will see. I would get a sundance chick but I am truly really chicken shuttled out. Lots of gas driving all over haha, it would be sooooo easy to pick me up another little layer. NOT that I am truly tempted by frizzle ameraucanas woo hoo! BUT I have been wanting another sex link because they lay such large eggs. AND I may need to swap out my peanut m&m egger so if I got one to start growing out now before fall.......then I would be ahead on the possible swap.....

HEAR the justification of the crazy chicken math lol? It is bad. I have two little chicks in my garage, one is going to be a boy for sure, so I am needing a little girl to keep Cosmo the (black crested white hooray!! :clap female I think!) polish company when she goes out to the big girl cage in the run in a few weeks.

Yep, I can understand being wiped out from all that driving and the gas costs. Yuck!

Time for pictures! First up is the newest turkey poult (I don't have pics yet of the black one)

He's not dead, just very relaxed while sleeping on my lap. If I talk to him, sometimes he'll cheep in his sleep.

I think I can see some faint striping coming in on his wings, so time will tell what breed he is.

Did some gardening yesterday. I've been so busy lately, my poor garden was getting choked by weeds and grass. I spent a couple of hours playing in the dirt and ripping out all manner of unwanted plants. Of course, my RIR had to supervise.

She was even kind enough to inspect my jeans and pick specks off of them while I was busy

For Lisa..from your enabler..go to her site. I can't pull up pictures now on the sell sites. What's up with my computer? Or is anyone else having problems. I got Adblock, that took care of the blue ads on here, but can't upload pictures on those sites. Anyway, she talks about her D'Uccles being really sweet and will fly up to you for treats.

Like I said, go to her site, pretty little birds.
Oh, my! Cynthia, you naughty, naughty woman! (You go ahead and keep enabling, I enjoy the conversations, and may one day benefit from it! ha ha!) Lisa, I think West Knoll's D'Uccles quality is much better than the other one you e-mailed/were looking at. Can you say eye candy?
I am home,

They decided that the smoke had got my asthma going then the chill in Alaska got my pheumonia working and it just took time and drugs to get better, My rib is still sore but not as much as it has been, I'm soooo excited about my new chicks and how they look. My kitties were excatic to see me and the dogs were happy to. Ed brought one of the dogs to the hospital yesterday to see me.
Yay! I'm glad you're home! Isn't it wonderful to have pets to greet us? Just don't push yourself too much too fast, get well first.

Sucker. :) What did you get? I bet your little showgirl will be a happy camper now. Congrats on her hatching, by the way. :) I bet you'll make her feet beautiful and functionable in no time.

Awww, super cute, Red! That turkey poult is smaller than I was expecting.
Isn't it great to have a helper in the garden? :)
