Utah!

Wow, such help you guys are! I went out for my chicken time a bit ago and tried looking at them a bit more. I am afraid that one of the silkies is probably a roo. Such a sad day! I have a black, two golden, and one white silkie and this one looks way different than the others. My friend, Gus, came by to help rustle them up so I could get a closer picture:

This is another one I am a bit concerned about:

I sure hope this one is not a roo. It is one of my favourites!

Ok I think that is a red sex link and if she would be a pullet. That is what sex link means. if it were a cockrel it would be black or barred. That is good news. Not sure about the silky as they can change

Ok, I bought one from Cal Ranch. yepper doodles..did it. It was a little one that wasn't making it too well in with allll those birds they just got in...more chicks! Too many, they are so crowed!
I have to get pictures of the little one, it has the cutest face.

And, my poor little showgirl, she has 5 toes on one foot, and 4 toes on the other foot. They were still curled when she was trying to stand, so I went to put boots on her, and discovered the difference. Hope it doesn't bother her in walking. I can tell she's going to need those boots for a while. Should work pretty good though. She's pretty strong today! :)

Dang it I was going to give you a sizzle or a frizzle Americana tomorrow I have been out banding my birds this afternoon so I can show them at the fair

Yep, I can understand being wiped out from all that driving and the gas costs. Yuck!

Time for pictures! First up is the newest turkey poult (I don't have pics yet of the black one)

He's not dead, just very relaxed while sleeping on my lap. If I talk to him, sometimes he'll cheep in his sleep.

I think I can see some faint striping coming in on his wings, so time will tell what breed he is.

Did some gardening yesterday. I've been so busy lately, my poor garden was getting choked by weeds and grass. I spent a couple of hours playing in the dirt and ripping out all manner of unwanted plants. Of course, my RIR had to supervise.

She was even kind enough to inspect my jeans and pick specks off of them while I was busy

Aww that is too cute.

This is pretty funny.

I sent my DH to Cal ranch to see what kinds they had. I did not dare go yet. He called and told me, then came home. He brought with him this :

700

700

700

Awww... it is so tiny. It is a bantam, and he did not ask what kind :/
Last year we got one and it ended up a japanese (black tail buff chabo) so I am wondering if this might be the white japanese, it looks awfully similar.
My Polish Cosmo has a new buddy :)

I had sworn off bantams. I had wanted a sexlink....for big eggs. Not quite what I had in mind, but I SUPPOSE it is his turn to pick one out! He was being sweet, he thought I would love her. So I will. Because I love him :D

That is so cute. I can't wait until the DUncles hatch. They are a really small bantum. Had a silkie go broody while I was in Hosp. She is not happy that I moved her. If she settles down I will let her raise the Duncles if not then she can be unhappy

Awww, that's so sweet, and she's so cute! The picture with the angle from above reminds me tons of Clay when he was a few days old...he was stocky/round like that! Still is .

How precious..saw some little baby turkeys at Cal Ranch too..and ducks..they had so many. I had my son come over and listen to the poults making their cute little sounds, I love their baby sounds. Nice RIR, taking care of what she seems to think doesn't belong on your jeans. :p

Lisa, that is just too cute of your husband! How sweet is he? I saw some of those at our place too. There was one white one I almost got, had feathered feet, guessing a cochin bantam. Can't tell, does yours have feathered feet and legs? I'll go take a picture of mine..bet no one will be able to tell what this one is...I can't even tell for sure. I'm thinking possibly, an EE..I think the cheeks are puffy, just a bit, and the legs seem to have a hint of green. Funny little thing.

Picture overload, because I always have a hard time deciding which ones to post!!! Cute babies.

Ok, so what in the world did I bring home. Kind of cute. I also have my Showgirl taped for splayed leg as you can see. Poor baby, wants to walk around, she looks kind of mad at me.? Is that a stink eye? She was done with the photo shoot. Tired little thing.

Awww that baby is a little chocolate kiss of goodness :) No clue what that is.....it sure looks like it has puffy cheeks? cute cute cute cute! I am in love with that one. Looks kind of like an owl the way the face is all white with brown all around, you picked a good one! The little showgirl does look ticked off at you Cynthia lol poor baby, she needs you! She is a cutie as well!

Mine has no feathered feet....he said there were so many more leghorns than anything else in there (LF) then in the bantam bin it was just a grab bag, they had no idea which breeds were what......can't really think of what else would be bantam and white, clean legged, flesh colored (for now) comb and legs.....single comb, clean faced......I am thinking japanese---or maybe a bantam leghorn?......we will find out as it feathers out I guess! If my Polish is nice during the night, so far so good but the size difference worries me. My 4th of July mustard egg EE is in there too, for now, but does not seem to even see the baby.
