Utah!

Here is my sweet little silkie roo that needs to find a new home. I think he started crowing this morning because the sounds coming from the coop sure didn't sound like the fork lift from next door at 6:30am! At about 12 weeks, I don't think it was any of the girls doing their celebratory songs either. So once again, looking for a good home for him. Any takers? I didn't ever get an answer about Wheeler Farm so I am hoping someone out there might want him for something other than freezer camp.

Call Thanks giving point they have silkies

I was also going to suggest Thanksgiving Point for that cute Silkie roo! You could also maybe call Peterson Farm Supply in Layton; I know they have a sort of petting zoo going on.

I don't think I'll get too attached to the cow with the hearts. He's super cute, but he's a steer. So, no good for breeding, won't produce milk, and in a year, he'll be over a thousand pounds. I don't want to have to feed that next winter.

I had to go to Cal Ranch yesterday to buy milk replacer for the other calf. I managed not to buy a SLW, even though I kind of wanted to. I think at some point in the future, I may get a BR, but I would definitely buy it from Suzie and get a show quality. They're stunning.

Sundance, LOVE the cast; that is so cute! Congrats on 8 mille fleurs making it to lockdown, that's really great. I hope they all hatch.

So what do you do to prep for show? I am showing at our Salt Lake County fair starting Aug 8, I am showing two cochins, a turkin, A frzzled cochin, and my Auracona, I was going to give them a bath and I have them on a Special supplement to make their feathers really shiny. Anything else? BTW I vaccinate all my chicks for mareks when they are born

I do everything on the first link and watch the second about a 100 times.

Sundance, that is so cute. What a lucky dog. You are a great animal lover. :)

Shinx, how cute is that? Hearts on both..will have to come up with names that go along with the heart theme. Cute!

wg, looks like a little roo..love that baby. Wish I could have roosters!

Speaking of Cal Ranch..I didn't mention this the other day. We were there a few days ago. I got so mad. They have so many chickens I can't believe it. They aren't selling them fast enough, and they are growing fast..like chicks do. Especially those meat birds! At least they had a bigger container for them, but, no water. Almost everyone one of those Cornish chicks were just sitting there panting. Now that's unusual for those birds, they are usually always eating, and drinking, and eating..
well..caught one of the guys that works there while he was walking by as he was talking with a customer. He thought I needed help there, and was asking if I needed help, I said, could you look at something for me here? A lot of these chickens have no water..he looks, he says, there's water in that one, says..excuse me mam in a real snotty way, and says he needs to get around me, and he goes and unplugs the water container that was full of shavings. I understand that they get filled up, clogged, but the other one was completely dry, and, in a lot of the others the same thing. The guy just left...and ha, the guy that he was talking to, just stood there and stared as the birds went crazy over the water. They were fighting and jumping over each other for the water. He stood there for quite a while, then started to walk towards where the so called helper went.
Then, Scott found the gloves. :) He went around and cleaned out the shavings from the ones that were clogged up.
Then, the manager came by. I forgot he was manager at first, this store just got a new one. I pointed out the fact that a few of the bins had no water. He said, oh dear, lets get these guys some right here now. They didn't even have a waterer in there! He went and found a lady and had her take care of them. He told me thank you over and over for pointing it out..then as I was heading to the register to pay for some shavings, I told Scott..hey, that was the manager. I had met him before, but I was too upset over the chicks while I was telling him, this bin, this bin and this bin. lol..boy, the one bin with the little red sex links went crazy for the water too when he put a small container in at first, but then he says, that isn't enough, and got that lady. She says...we watered them this morning. I told her I know it's hard to keep up with the water when they keep getting the shavings in there. It looked like one of the sex links was dieing.

I wasn't happy. I stayed there until I knew they were getting some. That one guy that was so rude..has been rude like that to us a couple of times before, helping us with a vaccine I was buying for my pup, and once to Scott when he asked about something. He is not a people person.

Cynthia, that is so upsetting! I don't know why they have little chicks this time of year anyway; it doesn't seem like people are buying. I'm glad you were able to help the poor babies out.

We named that calf Loverboy. LOL

Oh...just one had the hearts..I was thinking they both had a heart in different places. Didn't read close enough. That is a cute name. Bet your kids are loving the bottle feeding.

Hey, you and Lisa..did both of your Lavenders lay again yet today? I know my Cleo is going to lay, she's been waiting for the nest box. They either wait and yell at the other chicken that is in a next box, or they jump into the same box..Cleo waits. I will get a picture of the egg today, and you guys can tell me that my egg is blue. :)
My winning eggs should be fully hatched by Sat. :)

My lavender that is the sister hasn't laid and shows no interest in the box. Darn it

Ok, tell me it's blue! lol...

Brody doesn't care about the color, he just wants to eat it. He knows what eggs are
hard boiled eggs. :)

The middle one is the NH..then of course. the leghorn. Ok, so more blue than green. :p

I am going to be driving to Idaho falls next weed, probably Tues or Wed. Does anyone need me to pick up anything or drop off anything? Is that where bird guy lives? I'd like to stop off and see his chickens. He seems to have a lot of different breeds and I;d love to talk chickens but not turkey LOL
