OK i want your little Cotton. She will make a good wife to our blue splash Ratchet. How do i get ahold of you?

Yaay! She is pretty, but not as pretty right now as usual. She has a dirty face..she's been pigging out on fodder. I don't dare give her a bath after all of the things I've heard about Silkies getting chilled from being wet. I'm afraid that I wouldn't really get her dried enough. I'm not lazy, I promise! I wouldn't mind giving her a bath, but I want to keep her well for you. If you dare to give her a bath, and say, keep her in the house overnight so you know she is good and dry, that would work I guess.
Have to tell you what she does. Because of all of her feathering on her head, she can't see up as well as down. Normal with Silkies. I have been going in with my big black boots on. She goes after them..lol..pecks at them, but last night was really funny. Had a woman come and get my Birchen. It was dark, so the only light they have in that run is the red heat lamp. Cotton was outside of the sleep area. I went into the area where the Birchen was..all of a sudden, Cotton saw my boots. It's night time..she runs with her wings spread out and making the best noise she knows how to scare those big black things away. She was protecting the Birchen and the Partridge baby. Oh boy, I think she's going to be a great mom! The other lady and I were just laughing, I had to talk to Cotton, she knows my voice.
Did you see that Sundance is coming down this way on Thursday? Go up a few posts. P.M. her. Best way to get her number. Then you can P.M. me to let me know you got hold of her. I will give you my address there to send a check..just 10 dollars. I'm so excited you are getting her, I can see her every now and again. She's a beauty. A splash daddy and a white mom..oh the possibilities!

Caught my Wheaten in the nest box this morning. Had a feeling she would lay today.
Here is a picture of the egg the EE leghorn mix laid, and the Wheatens..on the right.

Of course pictures don't show the real color, but both eggs are darker. That is a nice
blue egg on the right from my Wheaten. Makes me smile. )

Whittni - I'm with Pawtrait. I would like to know how I can get a chicken Santa hat

I can make you guys some but I have no idea which of your chickens they'll fit so you'll have to guess or pick some that it will fit on. But if you guys want to send me like three to four dollars or something & I'll send each of you a hat to you first and you can use the return address to pay for the shipping and materials (included in the $3-$4). How does that sound?

I could get everyone on here a hat if everybody is interested.

Hmmm, interesting. I'll bet that picture is a few months old, because some of those poults still look quite young. They're pretty, though. As tempting as it is, I think I'll wait until Chickenstock to get some from Birdguy. It would give me a good excuse to go, anyway

Yay! I'm getting a chicken santa hat from Whittni!! I can't wait to take pictures of it one my girls, hehehehe. Now to get my laptop up and running so that I can upload all the pictures and videos I have from the last several months. Ugh!

yeah i understand that. plus you know birdguy and he is easy to trust. cynthia i like that old timer stuff. i use a lot of the old time ways in my coop. and i sure love dirt floors. and i use a lot of wood ash too
