Utah!

the issue with rats is they are smarter than mice so its a lot harder to deal with them. my go to bait with mice or rats is peanut butter and a trap that is harder for them to steal the bait without getting caught. if the rat is in a hole then that is easy to deal with, just get rodent smoke bombs and that will kill anything living in the hole and you do not have to deal with the bodies. what is does is fill the hole with poison gas killing them. live traps can be good too but its better to kill the rat imo. you could wait out with a pellet gun but you would have to be careful and its a little cold to be waiting outside... poison does not work well because rats are smart and can tell if something is poison. also keep the bait fresh because rats will only eat fresh food. good luck!

Well I just set the eggs. Ended up with 10 wheaten Ameraucana, 13 Black Copper Maran and 4 mix Ameraucana. I am hoping they do well.

Good luck blue! Sounds fun..I need more eggs..I can't believe, that the barn yard mix babies didn't make it..after hatching! Even the one in the house! I wonder what's up with that!

Brad, I like to use peanut butter too. Wonder if I put it in the springs like was suggested,..hmmm. so going to try it. I see them in my smaller coop a lot, and in the nursery coop, which I now have two babies in since the Silkie is done. My 5th generation girl, and I am hoping...an olive egger. They look to be girls.

So, had friends over, one opened the nest box and they both just started laughing. Here's why

Not sure what that Wheaten has been into..there are no apples in the run! Fodder? lol

Hello...excuse us! Had to get a picture from behind. That's the white leghorn mix ~
she's a pretty girl too. I am getting a green egg and a blue egg today. :))

And the end result..let's see, did they change places..nope..the green on the left, the blue on the right..and the picture does not even pick up the colors..that blue egg from the Wheaten is almost a turquoise..soo pretty.

Urg, how come my chickens always take so much longer to lay?

I haven't even seen a squat from my EE Leghorn. What's more, I'm not even sure my BO really wants to sit on eggs. She was on them last night, but this morning she didn't quite know what to do with them. Sigh..........Oh well.

Come on EE..waiting to see what colors everyone is getting from these girls! Anyone else get the white EE leghorn mix? That are hens?

Thought i would share this with all of you. It appears i have three chickens from Cynthia. I had my sister pick up three chicks just before christmas last year. I had to rehome the rooster but i still have the 2 hens. I guess it really is a small world. I guess i will have to get some birds from each of you at some point, its only fair.
Bandit is the one on the right. The picture dosent do her justice. she lays a large blue egg.

Here is a better picture

this is the only one i could find of Baby, she is about a month before POL here.

Oh man! I believe Bandit, is my chickens "sister" the EE's Cynthia hatched just before Christmas lol....remember "fatface" the belly walker Cynthia? I still have her. Her eggs are huge indeed. but mine is green, she came from a green egg, and there were others that came from blue in those eggs. Was Cowgirl the breeder? Cannot remember, so many! That is too funny, it is a small world for sure. Madchicken, I LOVE the polka dots down her front.

Come to think of it, I cannot name anybody on here that does NOT have a chicken hatched by Miss Cynthia....:p

The xmas babies...
